Food security is the foundation of sustainable human development, and the balance between food supply and demand in urban areas is highly important for promoting residents' health and the sustainable development of cities. This paper takes the Urumqi Metropolitan Area (UMA), a typical oasis urban area, as the study area and uses the food production-demand gap indicator to assess the balance of food production and consumption in the region from 2000 to 2020 and projects food demand in 2030-2060. The results show, first, that residents' food consumption is characterized by high carbohydrate, protein, and fat consumption, and that this put more pressure on food production.

With the rapid development of the cell and gene therapy industry, there is an increasing demand for lentiviral vectors that can efficiently infect cells of different purposes. BaEV lentiviruses have been shown to efficiently infect hematopoietic stem cells, primary B cells, and NK cells, which traditional VSV-G lentiviruses cannot infect. However, there is a problem of low virus yield in the production of BaEV lentivirus.

With the development of science and technology, bone tissue engineering technology has emerged, which can mimic the structure and function of natural bone tissues and create solutions for repairing or replacing human bone tissues based on biocompatible materials, cells and bioactive factors. Hydrogels are favoured by researchers due to their high water content, degradability and good biocompatibility.

The ecological security of lakes in arid areas is crucial for the sustainable development of regional society and the economy. The threat of dry lake-bottom dust and degradation of vegetation around lakes has become increasingly significant. This study proposes the maintenance of an optimal water surface area to ensure the ecological safety goals of Ebinur Lake.

However, its bulk particle size poses a challenge during electrochemical cycling, and the long ion/electron transport paths within it limit the rate capability. Herein, we propose a structural engineering approach for establishing a well-defined three-dimensional (3D) micro-sized silicon/carbon matrix to achieve efficient omnidirectional ionic and electronic conductivity within micro-sized silicon and effectively mitigate the volume changes.

Replicating full hand-object states with complete geometry is challenging because of the occluded object deformations. Here, we report a visual-tactile recording and tracking system for manipulation featuring a stretchable tactile glove with 1152 force-sensing channels and a visual-tactile joint learning framework to estimate dynamic hand-object states during manipulation.

Honokiol (HKL) is the main active components of Magnolia officinalis, which have significant anti-tumor properties. The aim of this study was to observe the autophagic and migratory effects of HKL on MG63 cells and to investigate whether the mechanism of action was related to FTO and Smad6.

This study investigated alterations in hemispheric lateralization and cooperation among patients with bipolar disorder (BD) and associations with neurotransmitter and cell-type density distributions to identify potential molecular and cellular pathomechanisms.
Methods: Sixty-seven BD patients and 127 healthy controls (HCs) were examined by resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI).
Recently, several studies on the chemical synthesis of brevianamide A (BA) were reported. In particular, a highly efficient and remarkably selective synthetic strategy was reported by Lawrence's group. However, a unified mechanistic understanding of these results is still lacking.

Intertrochanteric femur fracture is a common type of osteoporotic fracture in elderly patients, and postoperative femoral head varus following proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) fixation is a crucial factor contributing to the deterioration of clinical outcomes. The cross-angle between the implant and bone might influence fixation stability. Although there is a wide range of adjustment in the direction of anti-rotation blades within the femoral neck, the impact of this direct variation on the risk of femoral head varus and its biomechanical mechanisms remain unexplored.

The porous membranes fabricated from polylactic acid (PLA) possess numerous advantages, including a low relative density, a high specific surface area, biodegradability, and excellent biocompatibility. As a result, they exhibit promising prospects for various applications, such as oil-water separation, tissue engineering, and drug release.

Additionally, a cobalt complex with a strongly donating diphosphine, BenzP*, successfully catalyzes the asymmetric reductive arylation and alkenylation of α,β-unsaturated amides. Both catalytic systems show broad scopes and tolerance of sensitive functional groups.

Studies present that changes in nail position and screw insertion angles will affect fixation stability, but the biomechanical significance of these factors on the risk of femoral head varus has yet to be identified in PFNA fixed patients.
Methods: Clinical data in PFNA fixed intertrochanteric fracture patients have been reviewed, the relative position of intermedullary nail has been judged in the instant postoperative lateral radiography.

The current study attempted to establish a diagnostic threshold for thoracic spine HU in a type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) population with osteoporosis.
Patients And Methods: The current study retrospectively included 334 patients with T2DM.
In engineering practice, similar surface insulation measures are typically applied to different parts of mass concrete surfaces. However, this can lead to cracking at the edges of the concrete surface or the wastage of insulation materials. In comparison to flat surfaces, the edges of mass concrete structures dissipate heat more rapidly, leading to more pronounced stress concentration phenomena.

Typically, inter-hemispheric cooperation is examined by calculating the functional connectivity (FC) between each voxel in one hemisphere and its anatomical (structurally homotopic) counterpart in the opposite hemisphere. However, bilateral hemispheres are actually asymmetric in anatomy.

In this study, a ferroelectric (BaTiO) interlayer and field polarization treatment are introduced to set up a built-in field, which optimizes the transport mechanisms of Li in solid and liquid phases and thus enhances the rate performance and cycling stability of Si anodes. Also, a fast discharging and slow charging phenomenon is observed in a half-cell with a high reversible capacity of 1500.
