Aims: ICD codes are used for classification of hospitalizations. The codes are used for administrative, financial, and research purposes. It is known, however, that errors occur.

There is no existing tool to measure digital health literacy in rural China. This study aims to test and validate the digital health readiness questionnaire for assessing digital readiness among patients in rural China.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLifestyle optimization is one of the most essential components of cardiovascular disease prevention. Motivational counseling provided by health care professionals could promote lifestyle modification. The purpose of the review is to identify possible evidence-based psychological principles that may be applicable to motivational counseling in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Cardiac telerehabilitation (CTR) requires knowing how much energy people consume in daily life outside of cardiac rehabilitation activities. Therefore, we have investigated if the estimated values are valid in CTR.

However, few studies have investigated the potential of remote nutritional follow-up using digital solutions. This study investigates the effectiveness of a smartphone application for nutrition education and feedback with pictures of meals by a dietitian for patients with CAD.

Additionally, learnability should be assessed to identify those patients who need additional training to use digital tools in a health care setting.
Objective: The aim of the development of the Digital Health Readiness Questionnaire (DHRQ) was to create a short, usable, and freely accessible questionnaire that was designed from a clinical practice perspective.
Introduction: Despite proven benefits, patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) typically fail to participate in sufficient physical activity (PA). Effective interventions should be implemented to help patients maintain a healthy lifestyle and modify their present behavior. Gamification is the use of game design features (such as points, leaderboards, and progress bars) to improve motivation and engagement.

Different types of natural K channels share similar core modules and cation permeability characteristics. In this study, we have developed novel artificial K channels by rebuilding the core modules of natural K channels in artificial systems. All the channels displayed high selectivity for K over Na and exhibited a selectivity sequence of K ≈Rb during the transport process, which is highly consistent with the cation permeability characteristics of natural K channels.

These devices are often insufficiently validated for clinical use. This study aims to investigate a recently CE-cleared smartwatch using cuffless BP measurement in a population with normotensive and hypertensive individuals scheduled for 24-h BP measurement.

Physical activity may be the most effective intervention to delay frailty. This study aims to verify the effect of remotely supervised physical activity on health profile in community-dwelling frail older adults.

Mobile health (mHealth) has become an indispensable medium to deliver behavior change interventions, and there is a growing interest in the gamification apps in mHealth to promote physical activity (PA) participation. Gamification could use game design elements (such as points, leaderboards, and progress bars), and it has the potential to increase motivation for PA and engagement.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: Despite proven benefits, physical activity participation remains low in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Scientific evidence suggests that mobile health (mHealth)-based gamification interventions could increase physical activity levels. However, several systematic reviews demonstrated that most gamification intervention designs do not appropriately leverage theories from health behaviour models, and empirical evidence on the efficacy of such interventions among patients with CHD is still emerging.

The objective of this study was to assess the impact of educational interventions based on gain and loss frames on the health behaviours and beliefs of patients with chronic diseases and to identify the frame that achieves better outcomes.
Design: The systematic review was based on PRISMA guidelines for comprehensively searching, appraising and synthesising research evidence.
Background: In 2016, the Global Burden of Disease study pointed out that cardiovascular disease (CVDs) were the most common causes of death and accounted for the largest disease burden worldwide. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is one of the main treatments for coronary artery disease (CAD). Moreover, home- and exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is of great importance for improving the prognosis of patients undergoing PCI.

A class of unimolecular channels formed by pillararene-gramicidin hybrid molecules are presented. The charge status of the peptide domain in these channels has a significant impact on their ion transport and antimicrobial activity. These channels exhibited different membrane-association abilities between microbial cells and mammalian cells.

However, adherence remains suboptimal in China. It is clear that traditional CR does not meet the needs of many eligible patients and innovation is required to improve its application.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFAims: The purpose of this study was to describe the challenge of cross-cultural care encounters from perspective of imported nurses in Lhasa, Tibet, as well as investigate the relationship of cross-cultural care encounters and its influencing factors.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was designed among 300 imported nurses and 255 patients selected from four comprehensive hospitals (including two Grade III Class A hospitals and two Grade III Class B hospitals) in Lhasa. The average number, standard deviations, constituent ratios, -tests, rank-sum tests, one-way ANOVAs, multiple stepwise regression analyses, and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyze cross-cultural care encounters and its influencing factors.
Background: Despite of the established effectiveness, the acceptance and adherence of cardiac rehabilitation (CR) remains sub-optimal. Mobile technologies are increasingly used in promoting CR without any firm evidence of their safety and efficacy. This systematic review and meta-analysis were aimed to assess the effect of mobile applications as an intervention for improving adherence to CR.

Oxidative stress is one of the major pathogenic factors of the POAG, and can elicit molecular and functional changes in trabecular meshwork cells, causing increased aqueous humor outflow resistance and elevated intraocular pressure.

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of microRNA-483-3p (miR-483-3p) on extracellular matrix (ECM) production, and clarified the regulatory mechanism of microRNA-483-3p in human trabecular meshwork cells (HTMCs) under oxidative stress.
Methods: The expression levels of ECM (fibronectin, laminin, collagen I) in HTMCs under oxidative stress were measured by Western blot. Changes of miR-483-3p expression in HTMCs were evaluated by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR).
