This study aimed to investigate the association between biomarkers and overuse injuries in well-trained wrestlers. Seventy-six well-trained wrestlers on a national team completed two blood sample collections, two clinical overuse injuries diagnoses, and a questionnaire survey at a 2-week interval. Multivariate logistic regression analysis and receiver operating characteristic curve were used to screen for related factors and construct the prediction probability model of overuse injuries.

Article Synopsis
  • This study explored the effects of a 7-day beetroot juice (BRJ) supplementation on the endurance performance of 80 young active winter triathletes, comparing BRJ with a placebo in a double-blind format.
  • Results showed that BRJ significantly reduced oxygen uptake, blood lactic acid levels, and improved time to exhaustion during cycling tests, indicating enhanced running economy at high speeds.
  • However, there was no significant improvement in performance during a 10-km XC skiing competition, suggesting that the benefits of BRJ supplementation may vary based on the type of endurance activity undertaken.

As a World Anti-doping Agency (WADA)-approved treatment, hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy has been used to improve exercise performance in sports practice. We aimed to investigate the effect of pre-, post-, and intra-exercise HBO therapy on performance and recovery. A literature search was conducted using EMBASE, CENTRAL, PubMed, Web of Science, and SPORTDiscus to obtain literature published until May 2021.

A talent identification index system for male and female cross-country skiers in four age groups (11-12 years old, 13-14 years old, 15-16 years old, and 17-18 years old) was established. The system comprises five body shape indexes ( =5): Leg-to-Body Ratio (LBR), body fat percentage, maturity status, spreaded brachia index, and upper extremity length. The physiological function indexes ( =2) are VO and haemoglobin mass (Hb).
