Genetic diversity between local landraces and current breeding lines of pepper in China.

Based on 22 qualitative traits, 13 quantitative traits, and 27 molecular markers (26 SSR and 1 InDel), in the current study we compared the diversity and population structure of 94 local landraces and 85 current breeding lines of pepper in China. The results showed that the Shannon Diversity indices of 9 qualitative traits and 8 quantitative traits in current breeding lines were greater than those of landraces, of which 11 were fruit organ-related traits. [Antagonistic mechanisms of trichoderma spp. against Phytophthora nicotianae].

Antagonistic mechanisms of Trichoderma viride M3, Tv04-2, and T. harzianum ThB, were studied against Phytophthora nicotianae, the pathogen of stem blight disease on Schizonepeta tenuifolia by dual-culture, hydrolase activity, volatile and nonvolatile substances. Results indicated that competitive, mycoparasitism and antagonism were the antagonistic mechanisms of three Trichoderma spp.

Method: The leaf activity of SOD, contents of MDA and free praline and root vitality were determined after a treatment of high temperature stress (35 degrees C/25 degrees C) was given to different populations of P. ternate.
