Fruit color is a crucial trait for bell pepper. To investigate the mechanism of color formation, three bell pepper lines with different color (yellow, orange and red) were used as materials to conduct comprehensive targeted metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses. During the process of fruit development, 54 carotenoids metabolites were discovered, exhibiting unique accumulation patterns and notable variety specificity.

Background: The number of clinical nurses in China experiencing professional burnout is increasing yearly, posing a serious challenge to the public health sector. Implementing effective intervention strategies is key to reducing the level of occupational burnout. At present, training aimed at alleviating occupational burnout among clinical nurses is very limited, with common training programs focusing on addressing external factors of occupational burnout rather than the internal cognitive issues of clinical nurses.

Background: Observational studies have yielded conflicting evidence concerning the relationships between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and bone mineral density (BMD). As the exact causal inferences remain inconclusive, we conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) to identify the causal associations between OSA and BMD.

Methods: Single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with OSA were extracted from the FinnGen study.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is typified by persistent joint inflammation, which leads to the deterioration of bone and cartilage and a reduction in overall quality of life. The global prevalence of pain as a primary symptom in RA is influenced by the interplay between inflammation and its resolution. The identification of a family of lipid mediators known as specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM)s has contributed to the progress of our comprehension of inflammatory conditions.

Blue phosphors of high efficiency and superior thermal stability constitute the critical component for achieving high-quality white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). Herein, we report a highly efficient blue-emitting phosphor with superior thermal stability by heating Eu-doped Faujasite Y zeolite under a reducing atmosphere. The intensity and peak value of the phosphor are highly dependent on calcination temperature, and the intensity of PLE and PL spectra reaches a maximum at 1100 °C.

Background: The optimal treatment regimen for diabetic macular edema (DME) and predictors for its treatment`s outcome need emerging evidence but currently poorly studied.

Methods: A prospective, multicenter, open label randomized controlled study among adult patients with DME was conducted. Eyes were randomized to three or six doses initial Conbercept treatments.

Context: For secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT), physicians prefer conservative treatments, and surgical intervention has proven to be the best solution for some patients. Among the surgical interventions, total parathyroidectomy plus autotransplantation (TPTX+AT), using the forearm, is the major effective treatment. TPTX+AT, in conjunction with transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA), includes many advantages.

Objective: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of IVIG in the treatment with patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA).

Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of science, Cochrane library were searched for randomized controlled (RCTs) about effect of IVIG on RSA from inception to August 20, 2021. Values of standardized mean differences (SMD) were determined for continuous outcomes.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the role of ERF transcription factors in sesame crops, which are important for developing varieties that can withstand climate change-related stresses like drought and waterlogging.
  • - A total of 114 sesame ERF genes (SiERFs) were identified, with most showing a strong association with environmental responses, particularly under stress conditions such as drought and flooding.
  • - The findings suggest that certain SiERFs, specifically SiERF23 and SiERF54, are promising candidates for improving sesame's resilience to various abiotic stresses, contributing valuable insights for future crop breeding efforts.

Auxin-responsive genes are important during plant growth and development, but there are few relevant reports in peanut. In this study, 44 genes were identified from cultivated peanut, of which 31 genes were expressed in seed at varying degrees. , and were up-regulated, while , and were down-regulated with seed development and maturation.

Background: Sesame is a rare example of non-model and minor crop for which numerous genetic loci and candidate genes underlying features of interest have been disclosed at relatively high resolution. These progresses have been achieved thanks to the applications of the genome-wide association study (GWAS) approach. GWAS has benefited from the availability of high-quality genomes, re-sequencing data from thousands of genotypes, extensive transcriptome sequencing, development of haplotype map and web-based functional databases in sesame.
