Prior studies have reported connections between cathepsins (CTS) and gynecological cancers; however, the exact causal links are yet to be fully understood. Leveraging publicly accessible genome-wide association study summary datasets, we performed a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) and multivariate MR (MVMR) analysis, with the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method as the primary approach. MR analysis demonstrated inverse associations between CTSB and cervical cancer (IVW: odds ratio [OR] = 0.

Most current methods rely on motif databases to establish cross-modality relationships between genes from RNA-seq data and peaks from ATAC-seq data. However, these approaches are constrained by incomplete database coverage, particularly for novel or poorly characterized relationships.

However, whether UPR factors facilitate cell-cell communication between cancer cells and immune cells to drive cancer progression remains unclear. We found that adenosine 3',5'-monophosphate response element-binding protein 3-like protein 2 (CREB3L2), a noncanonical UPR factor, is overexpressed and activated in triple-negative breast cancer, where its cleavage releases a C-terminal fragment that activates the Hedgehog pathway in neighboring CD8+ T cells.

Duck virus hepatitis (DVH), caused by duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV), poses significant challenges to duck farming due to high mortality rates in young ducklings. Despite the widespread use of live attenuated vaccines, the genetic diversity within DHAV strains has diminished their cross-protection efficacy. This study aimed to evaluate the cross-protective efficacy of current DHAV-1 and DHAV-3 vaccines against genetically divergent wild strains.

Exploratory structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies led to the identification of compounds and as the most potent NA inhibitors, surpassing OSC in potency against both wild-type group-1 NAs and oseltamivir-resistant NAs. These compounds demonstrated significant antiviral activity against several wild-type strains and H1N1pdm09 strains (EC = 0.

Here, we developed a multiplex TaqMan-probe-based real-time RT-PCR method for the simultaneous detection of PEDV, TGEV, PDCoV, and PoRVA for the first time. The specific primers and probes were designed for the M protein gene of PEDV, N protein gene of TGEV, N protein gene of PDCoV, and VP7 protein gene of PoRVA, and corresponding recombinant plasmids were constructed.

To obtain broad-spectrum neuraminidase inhibitors, we designed and synthesised a series of novel oseltamivir derivatives bearing different N-heterocycles substituents that have been proved to induce opening of the 150-loop of group-2 neuraminidases. Among them, compound bearing 4-(()-2-methylpyrrolidin-1-yl) benzyl group exhibited antiviral activities similar to or weaker than those of oseltamivir carboxylate against H1N1, H3N2, H5N1, H5N6 and H5N1-H274Y mutant neuraminidases.
