The higher norepinephrine (NE) concentration induced by sympathetic nerve hyperactivation participated in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) over-proliferation and led to pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR), which played an important role in pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH).
