Very lower concentration of iodide can induce an appreciable color change of silver TNPs solution from blue to yellow by fusing of silver TNPs to nanoparticles, as confirmed by UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). We established a simple spectrophotometric and colorimetric method for detection of ascorbic acid based on the growth of silver nanoparticles in bovine serum albumin protected-silver nanoclusters (BSA-AgNCs) and Ag+ mixture. Due to the catalysis of BSA-AgNCs, ascorbic acid could reduce Ag+ to silver nanoparticles (NPs) at room temperature. The color of the mixture changed from colorless to yellow and a strong absorption band near 420 nm could be found in their absorption spectra owing to localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of produced silver NPs.

Aims: We aimed to analyze the phenotype of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) and non-tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (NILs) in HCC and non-tumor tissues, and evaluate relationships between changes in these cells and the prognosis of HCC.
Methods: Lymphocytes were isolated from HCC and corresponding non-tumor tissues and tested by flow cytometry. For comparison, clinical parameters were analyzed.
Aim: The aim of this study was to characterize the morphology of renal tumor vessels.
Methods: Twenty-two patients with kidney neoplasm underwent three-dimensional reconstruction prior to surgery. The vascular cast of kidney specimens was obtained after surgery.

Objective: To investigate the immunocytodynamic changes in the livers of chronic hepatitis C patients treated with IFN alpha-2b and ribavirin and to find new bases for an effective immune regulation therapy.
Methods: Forty-two chronic hepatitis C patients were treated with combined IFN alpha-2b and ribavirin and their peripheral blood and liver tissues were collected before the treatment for analyses. After the treatment, peripheral blood and liver tissue specimens were obtained from only 11 patients.
Background/aims: The immune response to tumor-specific antigens is typically unable to control the growth and spread of malignant cells. Accumulating evidence indicates that the suppressive effects of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T-cells are at least partially responsible for the failure of immune-mediated elimination of tumor cells.
Methods: We have studied 25 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
The human liver contains significant numbers of innate immune cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells and natural killer T (NKT) cells, which express both T-cell receptors and NK-cell receptors simultaneously. It has been suggested that the innate immune system plays a crucial role in the liver.
