Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common orthopedic condition with an uncertain etiology, possibly involving genetics and biomechanics. Factors like changes in chondrocyte microenvironment, oxidative stress, inflammation, and immune responses affect KOA development. Early-stage treatment options primarily target symptom relief.

Clinical treatment for ESCC lacks specific molecular targets and effective therapeutic drugs. Skimmianine (SK), one of the natural fluroquinolone alkaloids, is widely present in Rutaceae family plants.

Nevertheless, its regulatory mechanisms are still not fully understood. Here, we report that ubiquitin specific peptidase 3 (USP3) promotes proliferation and metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells by mediating deubiquitination of Aurora A.

Bio-absorbable Zn alloys have been attractive replacements for the traditionally permanent implants due to their reasonable mechanical strength and elongation, degradation rate, and biocompatibility. The hybridization addition of Mg and Ag elements could greatly improve the mechanical properties and antibacterial ability of Zn, respectively. In the present paper, in vivo biocompatibility for the Zn-0.

This paper studied the beneficial element Se produced in the process of coal mining and burning. The occurrence form of Se in soil and surface water influx into the mine water and the enrichment of Se by crops such as wheat, maize and rice were analyzed.

They feature an essentially similar hydrogen-bonding motif but differ slightly in their detailed geometric parameters. For both polymorphs, the unequivocal location of the hydroxy H atoms together with the expected differences in the P-O bond lengths establish unequivocally that both forms contain the S isomer; the protonated phosphinic acid and carboxy O atoms serve as hydrogen-bond donors, while the second phosphinic acid O atom acts as a double hydrogen-bond acceptor and the remaining carboxy O atom is not involved in hydrogen bonding.

There is currently substantial interest in the identification of human tumor antigens for the diagnosis and immunotherapy of cancer. In our previous study, secretion character and up-regulation of triosephosphate isomerase were observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma, and autoantibodies against triosephosphate isomerase and peroxiredoxin 6 were detected in the sera from over 25% of patients, but in none of the healthy controls. In this study, peroxiredoxin 6 was also found at higher levels in the sera of the patients.

The title compound, [CdBr(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Cd(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O with NaBr and 1,10-phenanthroline, has the Cd(II) cation coordinated by two Br(-) anions and four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular π-π inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances 3.572 (1) and 3.

In this study, we applied a proteomic approach to identify proteins that commonly elicit humoral response in lung squamous carcinoma (LSC). Sera from 20 newly diagnosed patients with LSC and 20 matched healthy individuals were analyzed for antibody-based reactivity against LSC proteins separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis.
