Quantitative structure-property relationships have been extensively studied in the field of predicting retention times in liquid chromatography (LC). However, making transferable predictions is inherently complex because retention times are influenced by both the structure of the molecule and the chromatographic method used. Despite decades of development and numerous published machine learning models, the practical application of predicting small molecule retention time remains limited.

Organophosphorus flame retardants (OPFRs) have emerged as good alternatives to brominated flame retardants, the use of which is globally restricted. In this study, a screening method based on QuEChERS-gas chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-Q-TOF/MS) was established for the determination of 21 OPFRs in rice. First, full scan (scanning range, 50-450) was performed with a mixed standard solution of the 21 OPFRs (0.

Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a progressive hepatitis syndrome characterized by high transaminase levels, interface hepatitis, hypergammaglobulinemia, and the presence of autoantibodies. Misdiagnosis or delayed treatment of AIH can lead to cirrhosis or liver failure, which poses a major risk to human health. β-Arrestin2, a key scaffold protein for intracellular signaling pathways, has been found to be involved in many autoimmune diseases such as Sjogren's syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis.

Hepatitis is a complex multifactorial pathological disorder, which can eventually lead to liver failure and even potentially be life threatening. Paeoniflorin-6'-O-benzene sulfonate (CP-25) has proven to have critical anti-inflammatory effects in arthritis. However, the effects of CP-25 in the pathogenesis of hepatitis remains unclear.

Purpose: Previous studies have indicated that dietary consumption of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and the Ca-to-Mg (Ca:Mg) ratio were associated with different health outcomes. However, no study has evaluated the association of pre-diagnostic Ca, Mg, and Ca:Mg ratio consumption with ovarian cancer (OC) survival.

Methods: The aforementioned associations were investigated in a cohort of 853 Chinese women diagnosed with OC between 2015 and 2020.

Article Synopsis
  • A study examined the impact of meat and seafood consumption on ovarian cancer survival, involving 853 patients monitored from 2015 to 2021.
  • Findings indicated that higher fish and seafood intake improved survival rates, while processed red meat consumption negatively affected survival.
  • The research also highlighted that cooking methods, particularly for fried or baked fish, influenced the survival outcomes alongside seafood intake.

G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2 (GRK2), an important subtype of GRKs, specifically phosphorylates agonist-activated G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). Besides, current research confirms that it participates in multiple regulation of diverse cells a non-phosphorylated pathway, including interacting with various non-receptor substrates and binding partners. Fibrosis is a common pathophysiological phenomenon in the repair process of many tissues due to various pathogenic factors such as inflammation, injury, drugs, etc.

Background: Evidence for a role of single nutrition or foods on ovarian cancer (OC) survival has been limited and inconclusive. Due to the potentially complex interactions in dietary, we applied dietary patterns to this study to firstly explore the relationship between the pre-diagnosis overall diet and OC survival.

Methods: The prospective cohort study was conducted among 853 OC patients aged 18-79 years during 2015-2020.

β-arrestin2 and β2-adrenergic receptor (β2-AR) have important roles in malignant tumors, the present study aims to investigate the role of activated β2-AR in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) during hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression and the regulatory effect of β-arrestin2. Immunofluorescence and Western blot were used to detect the expression of β-arrestin2 and β2-AR in HSCs of liver tissues from human HCC samples and diethylnitrosamine (DEN)-induced HCC model mice. We next used β-arrestin2 mice to demonstrate the regulatory role of β-arrestin2 in DEN mice.

The associations of the consumption of cruciferous vegetables (CVs) and their bioactive components, isothiocyanates (ITCs), with ovarian cancer (OC) mortality have been unclear, owing to limited studies and inconsistent findings. To date, no studies have evaluated these associations among Chinese patients with OC. This study aims to provide more evidence indicating the relationships of pre-diagnosis CVs and ITC intake with OC survival.

Dairy product consumption is associated with ovarian cancer (OC) incidence. However, limited evidence is available on its influence on OC mortality. The association between pre-diagnostic dairy product intake and OC mortality was investigated in the OC follow-up study, which included a hospital-based cohort ( = 853) of women diagnosed with epithelial OC between 2015 and 2020.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the deadliest gynecological cancers worldwide. Previous observational epidemiological studies have revealed associations between modifiable environmental risk factors and OC risk. However, these studies are prone to confounding, measurement error, and reverse causation, undermining robust causal inference.

Fish eggs of the ovate sole Solea ovata and black porgy Acanthopagrus schlegelii were identified through DNA barcoding of cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COX1). Visual taxonomic features were achieved, and photographs of the eggs of both species at different developmental stages were reported for the first time. In addition, the dissolution of oil globules caused by ethanol as egg fixatives was observed.

In this study, an analytical method based on isotope dilution-liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (ID-LC-MS/MS) was developed as a candidate reference method for the determination of sulfonamides (SAs) in honey. To guarantee the accuracy and authenticity, the impact of hydrolysis on bound SA residues was first investigated by enabling (i) identification of sugar-bound SAs, (ii) clarifying the binding reaction rule between the SAs and sugar, (iii) detection of free SAs and sugar-bound SAs, and (iv) preparation of SA-contaminated honey. Thus, the efficiency of different hydrolysis conditions was assessed by comparing the bound SA content before and after hydrolysis.

Hepatic fibrosis is a disease characterized by excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) in the liver. Activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is responsible for most of ECM production. Oxidative stress and reactive oxygen species (ROS) may be important factors leading to liver fibrosis.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an aggressive form of human liver cancer and the fifth most common malignancy worldwide. Novel effective treatment strategies for HCC are urgently in clinical because of its poor response to conventional therapies. G protein-coupled receptor kinases (GRKs), including GRK2 and GRK3, are known that involves in various essential cellular processes and regulates numerous signaling pathways.

Epidemiological studies have investigated the relationship between infertility and the risk of ovarian cancer (OC); however, the results have been inconsistent. We therefore conducted the first meta-analysis to update and quantify the aforementioned association based on prospective cohort studies. Article Synopsis
  • Acute liver injury can happen quickly due to oxidative stress, which is a problem for many liver diseases.
  • Researchers are looking at a protein called β-arrestin2, which plays a role in how the liver reacts to stress and injury.
  • In experiments with mice that didn't have β-arrestin2, scientists found that these mice had less liver damage and were better at fighting oxidative stress compared to normal mice.

In this paper, we employed a direct analysis in real time (DART) ion source coupled to QTRAP mass spectrometry for the analysis of chloramphenicol (CAP) in honey. The accuracy of the DART-MS/MS method for the analysis of CAP in honey was evaluated by comparison with data generated by a validated HPLC-MS/MS method. The sample preparation procedure was optimized to obtain sensitive and accurate determination of trace CAP residue in honey at concentrations less than 1.
