The single-atom skeletal editing technology is an efficient method for constructing molecular skeletons, which has broad coverage in synthetic chemistry. However, its potential in the preparation of energetic heterocyclic molecules is grossly underexplored. In this work, an unexpected one-step reaction for the synthesis of novel energetic molecules was discovered which combines single-atom skeletal editing, -dinitromethyl functionalization, and zwitterionization in one step.

Acacetin (5,7-dihydroxy-4'-methoxyflavone) is a flavone compound, some of which have anti-cancerous effects. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays an important role in angiogenesis and tumor growth. In this study, we found that acacetin decreased the steady level of VEGF mRNA level and inhibited VEGF transcriptional activation.

Electrochemistry and electrocatalysis of binuclear cobalt phthalocyaninehexasulfonate sodium salt (bi-CoPc) were investigated successfully in liquid crystal films of didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) on pyrolytic graphite (PG) electrodes in aqueous solution. This new bi-CoPc-surfactant film modified electrode could reduce aggregation of bi-CoPc in aqueous solution, which was confirmed by the electronic absorption spectra in the visible region and images of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The charge transport diffusion coefficient (D(ct)) and apparent heterogeneous electrode reaction rate constant (k(s)) for this modified electrode were estimated.
