Background: Thoracic radiotherapy (TRT) has shown potential benefits in improving local control and overall survival (OS) in chemotherapy-responsive small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) cases. However, its role in the era of chemoimmunotherapy remains underexplored. In the current era of immunotherapy, this study evaluated the efficacy and safety of consolidative TRT (cTRT) in patients with extensive-stage SCLC (ES-SCLC) and assessed its impact on OS.

As a key species in freshwater aquaculture, was subjected to ammonia stress to assess its impact on the hepatopancreas. A total of 4007 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between control and treatment groups, comprising 1838 upregulated and 2169 downregulated genes. Following exposure to 300 mg/L of ammonia, the oxidative phosphorylation pathway was activated, while the lysosomal pathway was suppressed, thereby influencing immune functions.

Article Synopsis
  • Chlorantraniliprole (CAP) is a widely used insecticide in agriculture, particularly with the rise of rice-crayfish farming, but its effects on crayfish are not fully understood.
  • In a study, crayfish exposed to varying concentrations of CAP showed decreased survival and immune function, indicating oxidative stress and health deterioration.
  • The research revealed that CAP disrupts the crayfish's intestinal barrier and microbial balance, while also altering gene expression related to immunity and energy metabolism, highlighting the need for further investigation into the effects of pesticides on aquatic life.

Zinc is a significant source of heavy metal pollution that poses risks to both human health and biodiversity. Excessive concentrations of zinc can hinder the growth and development of insects and trigger cell death through oxidative damage. The midgut is the main organ affected by exposure to heavy metals.

Background & Aims: Major depressive disorder and schizophrenia have been hypothesized to be closely associated with cancer. However, the associations between these psychiatric conditions and the development of lung cancer remain uncertain. This study aimed to explore the causal relationship among major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and the risk of lung cancer.

Zinc finger proteins (ZFPs) play an important role in plant growth and development. Here, we describe the isolation of CgZFP1, a Cys2/His2 (C(2)H(2)) ZFP gene, using RACE PCR from chrysanthemum, and the investigation of its function with ectopic expression in Arabidopsis. CgZFP1 contains two conserved C(2)H(2) regions, a nuclear localization domain (B box), a Leu-rich domain (L box) and a conserved DLN sequence (DLN box) close to its C-terminus.
