There are differences in individual cardiovascular responses to the administration of dexmedetomidine, a highly selective α-adrenergic receptor (ADRA2A) agonist. The aim of this study was to investigate ADRA2A gene polymorphisms in the Chinese Han population and their association with the cardiovascular response to intravenous dexmedetomidine infusion. Background: Perioperative goal-directed fluid therapy (GDFT) aiming to maintain individual fluid balance based on sensitive parameters was prevalent in major surgery, especially in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathway. This meta-analysis was conducted for the purpose of evaluating whether GDFT impacts on occurrence of postoperative ileus and whether its application is worthwhile in gastrointestinal surgery.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of a Nitric oxide (NO) donor, S-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO), on apoptosis and the improvement of preservation quality in apheresis platelets.

Methods: A GSNO solution - to make the final GSNO concentration of 100 uM was added into fresh apheresis platelets, and the parameters associated with platelet morphology, metabolism, and apoptosis were dynamically monitored for seven days.

Results: The results showed that the NO level was remarkably higher during the whole storage stageafter GSNO injection.

We herein present a case of a left cervical cystic mass, for which the initial pathological diagnosis was branchial cleft cyst carcinoma (following complete mass excision). Thorough postoperative examinations, including with FDG positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT), revealed a primary tumor in the retromolar region of the left mandible. A 52-year-old female presented with a 2-month history of a painless, progressively enlarged left-sided neck mass.
