In this work, we implemented a short-reach real-time optical communication system using MLP for pre-distortion. Lookup table (LUT) algorithms are commonly employed for pre-distortion in intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) systems. However, storage limitations typically restrict the LUT pattern length to 9, limiting its effectiveness in compensating for nonlinear effects.

The size of a plano-convex lens increases as the aperture increases, and thinner lenses have longer focal lengths. Through theory and simulation, we designed a Fresnel lens suitable for the terahertz band to meet the requirements of large aperture and short focal length, and simulated the performance, advantages, and disadvantages of the terahertz Fresnel lens.

Additionally, the introduction of bismuth-doped fiber amplifiers (BDFAs) results in less nonlinear impact and a higher link budget compared with semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs). However, with these key issues resolved, the system bandwidth limitation emerges as the next critical bottleneck for high-speed O-band DCI transmission that limits overall performance.

Unlike probabilistic shaping (PS) and geometric shaping (GS), our approach does not require modifications to the existing digital signal processing (DSP) architecture; it only necessitates the addition of sequence modulation and demodulation modules. Additionally, the source entropy (SE) can be flexibly adjusted.

By combining the D-DSM scheme with OCT precoding, we successfully solved the problem of uneven distribution of in-band quantization noise (IBN) while bringing about a quantization SNR gain of about 1.5 dB.

However, the mechanism via which SF enhances soil quality and crop productivity under Cd- and Pb-contaminated soil (S) remains unclear. This study investigated the impacts of chemical fertilizer, mineral SF (MSF), and organic SF (OSF) on microbial community structure, activity of nutrient acquisition enzymes, and growth of tobacco in the presence of S condition.

In this Letter, we propose the application of delta-sigma modulation (DSM) higher-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technology in long-distance transmission of W-band wireless communication, and demonstrate, for the first time to the best of our knowledge, the wireless transmission of millimeter wave signals in the W-band based on 1-bit DSM quantization using polarization-division-multiplexed orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (PDM-OFDM) 1024QAM/4096QAM for 4.6 km. We successfully achieved a bit error rate (BER) of 40-Gbit/s PDM-OFDM 1024QAM and 48-Gbit/s PDM-OFDM 4096QAM after 4.

The 10-Gbaud DDSM-RoF signal with a common public radio interface equivalent data rate (CPRI-EDR) of 55.8 Gb/s is successfully transmitted in a 130-GHz 4.

To solve the problem of low spectral efficiency of common public radio interface (CPRI) and severe distortion of high-order QAM of envelope detection, quantization noise suppressed delta-sigma modulation (DSM) is introduced into the system. The experimental results show that the system can transmit 131072 QAM signals when meeting the error vector magnitude (EVM) requirements of 5G new radio (NR), and transmit 1048576 QAM signals when meeting the soft decision threshold (SD@20%).

Ultrasonic radiation technology is an "environment-friendly" technology that is widely used in algae removal. However, this technology leads to the release of intracellular organic matter (IOM), which is an important precursor of disinfection by-products (DBPs).

In our study, the stomach contents of 14 wild boars in southern China were analyzed by DNA metabarcoding. The results showed that there were 153 genera, 93 families, and 48 orders of plant food sources for wild boars.

Two exact conditions are derived for plane mechanical waves: simultaneous constructive interferences of each of two coupled orthogonal modes, and intermodal interference at the entrance and exit sides of the interferometer with specific skew polarizations. Because the multimodal interferences and specific skew motions require unique anisotropic interferometers, they are realized by metamaterials.
