Background: Previous studies have suggested a possible link between hearing loss and the risk of depression. However, the strength of this association remains uncertain across varying follow-up periods, age groups, cohort studies, and longitudinal study designs.

Methods: We conducted an extensive literature search across PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases to retrieve pertinent studies.

Background: Numerous parallels exist between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and allergic rhinitis (AR), which include risk factors (such as environmental and genetic factors), pathogenesis (immune disorders, epithelial cell barriers, etc.), and treatment (immunosuppressants and immunomodulators, such as cyclosporine and steroids). With the wide application of YM in clinical practice, its quality control has attracted huge attention. Based on the multi-component characteristics of Chinese herbal medicines, it is pertinent to establish a quality evaluation system.

The association between 5-HT1A binding and temporal lobe epilepsy: A meta-analysis of molecular imaging studies.

Background: Studies have shown conflicting results in the correlation between serotonin-1A (5-HT1A) receptor binding levels in the brain and temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). There is a need to systematically evaluate the correlation between the 5-HT1A binding level and TLE from the perspective of the brain using molecular imaging.

Is depression in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy related to hippocampal sclerosis? A meta-analysis.

Objective: To systematically evaluate the association between hippocampal sclerosis (HS) and depression in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) through a meta-analysis.

Methods: Chinese and English databases, such as the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Scientific Journals (VIP), WanFang, the Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed), PubMed and the Web of Science, were searched.

Results: Two evaluators independently screened the literature, extracted data and evaluated the risk of bias in the included studies in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Optimization of pressurized liquid extraction of three major acetophenones from Cynanchum bungei using a box-behnken design.

In this work, pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) of three acetophenones (4-hydroxyacetophenone, baishouwubenzophenone, and 2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone) from Cynanchum bungei (ACB) were investigated. The optimal conditions for extraction of ACB were obtained using a Box-Behnken design, consisting of 17 experimental points, as follows: Ethanol (100%) as the extraction solvent at a temperature of 120 °C and an extraction pressure of 1500 psi, using one extraction cycle with a static extraction time of 17 min. The extracted samples were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography using an UV detector.
