- Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is responsible for 85% of lung cancer deaths globally, and the impact of heat shock protein 90B1 (HSP90B1) and DNA damage-inducible transcript 3 (DDIT3) on NSCLC has not been fully explored.
- A study examined 143 NSCLC tissue samples and found that high expression of HSP90B1 was linked to advanced clinical stages and lymph node metastasis, while DDIT3 was only correlated with lymph node metastasis.
- Importantly, high levels of HSP90B1 were associated with poorer overall survival and disease-free survival, indicating it could serve as an independent prognostic factor in NSCLC.
