New evidence of high-speed rail promoting green economic growth in the Yangtze River Economic Belt: empirical analysis based on difference-in-differences.

The Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) is an important ecological barrier in China. From new perspectives, this paper explores the mechanism of high-speed rail (HSR) for green economic growth (GEG) in the YREB. This paper constructs 108 city panel data at the prefecture level and above in the YREB from 2003 to 2020.

Enhancement of Fenton processes at initial circumneutral pH for the degradation of norfloxacin with Fe@FeO core-shell nanomaterials.

The degradation of norfloxacin by Fenton reagent with core-shell Fe@FeO nanomaterials was studied under neutral conditions in a closed batch system. Norfloxacin was significantly degraded (90%) in the Fenton system with Fe@FeO in 30 min at the initial pH 7.0, but slightly degraded in Fenton system without Fe@FeO under the same experimental conditions.

Effects of different methods of DNA extraction for activated sludge on the subsequent analysis of bacterial community profiles.

The effect of different DNA extraction protocols on activated sludge DNA yield and bacterial community composition was evaluated by temperature gradient gel electrophoresis (TGGE). Nine different procedures to extract DNA were compared-sonication (30s), sonication (40s), sonication (50s), freezing-thawing, bead milling, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-lysozyme, SDS-proteinase K, SDS-lysozyme-proteinase, and a commercial extraction kit. It was found that the TGGE profiles and the DNA band numbers made significant differences via various extraction methods.
