Considering the facts of fossil fuel depletion and environmental issues, the conversion of biomass into high value-added chemicals is of great importance. In this work, Ni and Co were encapsulated in lignin-derived phenolic resin spheres to obtain NiCo@LRS, which was then employed as a sacrificial template for the synthesis of the bimetallic catalyst NiCo@LC-RS. The Ni and Co act as the acid and dehydrogenation sites for the catalytic transfer hydrogenolysis of 2-phenoxy-1-phenylethanol (pp-ol) and corncob lignin, respectively, and exhibit a synergistic enhancement effect.

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technology has great potential in detecting foodborne pathogens, but conventional LAMP suffers from drawbacks such as complex operation and low detection throughput. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a multi-targeted and simultaneous LAMP detection platform to identify pathogens across various food matrices, in order to effectively manage food quality and safeguard human health.

This study investigates alterations in the pulmonary microbiome following one-lung ventilation during thoracoscopic lobectomy and evaluates the impact of differential microbiota on inflammatory responses.

Methods: This retrospective propensity score-matched (PSM) study was to analyze the clinical data prospectively collected from female rectal cancer patients who underwent either robotic-assisted transvaginal specimen extraction (RATV) or robotic-assisted transanal specimen extraction (RATA) at our center between June 2016 and December 2022. The main outcome measures were urinary, anal, and sexual function.
Hyperlipidemia and myocardial apoptosis caused by myocardial ischemia are the main causes of high mortality rates in cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies have indicated that Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is involved in the induction of cardiac myocyte apoptosis under various stress conditions. In current study, we discovered that KLF4 also participates in palmitic acid (PA)-induced cardiac myocyte apoptosis.

Bile acid sequestrants such as cholestyramine (ChTM) are gut-restricted bile acid-binding resins that block intestine bile acid absorption and attenuate hepatic bile acid signaling. Bile acid sequestrants induce hepatic bile acid synthesis to promote cholesterol catabolism and are cholesterol-lowering drugs. Bile acid sequestrants also reduce blood glucose in clinical trials and are approved drugs for treating hyperglycemia in type-2 diabetes.

Although it has been identified across a wide array of plant species, there have been no comprehensive studies on the gene family in centipedegrass [ (Munro) Hack.], which is an important warm-season perennial C4 turfgrass.

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) are widely used to pinpoint trait-related causal variant loci in genomes. However, the simultaneous integration of both methods for crop genome prediction necessitates further research.

Here we conduct the largest scale whole-exome sequencing association study of NPC to date, encompassing 6,969 NPC cases and 7,100 controls. We unveil 3 germline genetic variants linked to NPC susceptibility: a common rs2276868 in RPL14, a rare rs5361 in SELE, and a common rs1050462 in HLA-B.

Based on the network pharmacological analysis, XHDCT chemical constituents and targets of each chemical constituent were screened through the TCMSP database, and differential-expressed genes of bronchial asthma were obtained from the GEO database, which were intersected to get XHDCT potential anti-inflammatory targets. The key anti-inflammatory targets of XHDCT were acquired by protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis of the candidate targets.

Methods: In this study, we performed a secondary analysis of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and calculated the values of oxidative balance score (OBS). A weighted logistic regression model was used to explore the potential relationship between OBS (continuous factor and quartile set) and female infertility, and the P for trend was calculated.
We experimentally demonstrate the tuning of accidental bound states in the continuum (A-BICs) in silicon nanodisk arrays. The A-BIC emerges of the destructive interference of multipoles, which are the dominating out-of-plane electric dipole and in-plane magnetic dipole, and weak electric quadrupole and magnetic quadrupole. We further show that the spectral and angular position of the A-BIC can be conveniently tuned by varying the nanodisk size or the lattice period.
