A styrene-glycidylmethacrylate-1-allyl-3-vinylimidazole epoxy functionalized ionomer (EFI) was synthesized, and the EFI and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were co-introduced into poly(lactide)/poly(butylene-adipate-co-terephtalate) (PLA/PBAT) blends to fabricate high performance composites with excellent mechanical properties, fatigue-resistance and dielectric properties. It is revealed that EFI can improve the interaction force between PLA and PBAT by inducing the interfacial crosslink reaction, thereby improving the melt strength of the samples. EFI can also refine the dispersion of CNT in the composites owing to the non-covalent force between EFI and CNT, promote the formation of filler network inside composites, which is demonstrated by DMA and rheological test results.

In this study, we isolated a strain of Ligilactobacillus salivarius XP132 from the gut microbiota of healthy chickens. This strain exhibited resistance to low pH and bile salts, auto-aggregation capabilities, and the ability to co-aggregate with pathogenic Salmonella.

Ecopolitical discourse: Authoritarianism or democracy? - Evidence from China.

From the discourse analysis perspective, ecopolitics has experienced a discourse change from authoritarianism to democracy. This study uses theory of authoritarianism and democracy in ecopolitics to explore the impact of authoritarian ecopolitical discourse (AED) and democratic ecopolitical discourse (DED) on environmental quality in China. After analysis using panel data and comparison of three main regions, results suggest a negative relationship between AED of the central government and environmental quality.

Detecting fatigue in car drivers and aircraft pilots by using non-invasive measures: The value of differentiation of sleepiness and mental fatigue.

Introduction: Fatigue is one of the most crucial factors that contribute to a decrease of the operating performance of aircraft pilots and car drivers and, as such, plays a dangerous role in transport safety. To reduce fatigue-related tragedies and to increase the quality of a healthy life, many studies have focused on exploring effective methods and psychophysiological indicators for detecting and monitoring fatigue. However, those fatigue indicators rose many discrepancies among simulator and field studies, due to the vague conceptualism of fatigue, per se, which hinders the development of fatigue monitoring devices.
