Purpose: To propose a node-by-node matching method between MRI and pathology with 3D node maps based on preoperative MRI for rectal cancer patients to improve the yet unsatisfactory diagnostic performance of nodal status in rectal cancer.

Methods: This methodological study prospectively enrolled consecutive participants with rectal cancer who underwent preoperative MRI and radical surgery from December 2021 to August 2023. All nodes with short-axis diameters of ≥ 3 mm within the mesorectum were regarded as target nodes and were localized in three directions based on the positional relationship on MRI and drawn on a node map with the primary tumor as the main reference, which was used as a template for node-by-node matching with pathological evaluation.

Programmed cell death (PCD) is a significant factor in the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and might serve as a crucial marker for predicting HCC prognosis and therapy response. However, the classification of HCC based on diverse PCD patterns requires further investigation. The blue algae can be used as a nitrogen agent for promoting biological coalbed methane, but its applicability and microbial mechanism in different microbial enhanced coalbed methane technologies kept unknown. This study evaluated the methanogenic efficiency of blue algae addition with a mass ratio of 10% under fermentative degradation and microbial electrolytic cell technologies, and studied the changes of coal microstructure, surface functional groups, organic components and microbiome. The results showed that the algae addition affected the micro-concave-convex structure, non-uniform distribution of micro-particles and micro-cracks of coals, and finally increased the methanogenic rate by 1.

Herein, we used pH-shifted and pH-driven methods to assemble kidney-bean protein isolate (KPI) and luteolin (Lut) into a nanocomplex and subsequently investigated their binding mechanism, structure, and functional properties. Results showed that the nanocomplex prepared by the pH-driven method exhibited a better encapsulation effect and controlled release of Lut. Fluorescence spectroscopy and molecular docking analysis showed that the binding affinities under alkaline conditions were higher than those under acidic and neutral conditions.

Introduction: Heroin use disorder (HUD) is commonly accompanied by gut dysbiosis, but the roles of gut microbiota in HUD treatment, such as compulsory detoxification and methadone maintenance treatment (MMT), remain poorly understood.

Methods: In this study, we performed 16 s rDNA and whole metagenome sequencing to analyze the gut microbial profiles of HUD patients undergoing heroin addiction, heroin withdrawal (compulsory detoxification), and MMT.

Results: Our findings revealed that, compared to healthy controls, microbial diversity was significantly decreased in HUD patients who were in a state of heroin addiction and withdrawal, but not in those receiving MMT.

The stabilities and levels of protein-lipid co-oxidation of algae oil-in water (O/W) emulsions coated with the soybean protein 7S/11S or their rutin covalent conjugates were studied during storage. After 96 h of storage, the emulsions stabilized with the covalent conjugates exhibited decreased droplets sizes and ζ-potentials and increased concentrations of adsorbed proteins. Therefore, the covalent binding of rutin in different mixing ratios (at 7S/11S:rutin molar ratios of 1:10 and 1:20) improved the physical stabilities of the emulsions compared with those of the emulsions stabilized by native 7S/11S.

Tyrosinase-catalyzed synthesis of soy 7S/11S-phlorizin conjugates was performed, and the reaction sites, conformation alterations and functional properties of complexes were evaluated using proteomic, in combination with multispectral technologies. Phlorizin was conjugated to 7S/11S primarily via residues of Lys, Cys, His and Arg residues.
