Objective: To determine whether the presence of preoperative subchondral bone marrow oedema (SBME) is associated with inferior outcomes after lateral unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (LUKA).
Study Design: Descriptive study. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Chongqing Orthopaedic Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chongqing, China, from January 2019 to June 2022.
Parental involvement in children's education is highly valued and encouraged in many societies. While existing research has mainly focused on the positive effects parental involvement has for children, we argue that engaging in such quality parent-child interactions can also be a resource-gaining process for parents. Drawing on the conservation of resources theory and the work-home resources model, the current study aims to investigate how and when working parents' involvement in children's education enhances their well-being at home and engagement at work.

Methods: The systematic review was conducted from January to March 2023, and comprised literature search on PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Ovid, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang databases for relevant studies published up to March 1, 2023. Study data as well as demographic and outcome parameters related to the patients were extracted, and the methodological index for non-randomised studies was used to assess the risk of bias.
In this study, amine vapor-sensitive films with ratiometric fluorescence attributes were developed. The pH-sensitive fluorescein 8-hydroxypyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonic acid trisodium salt (HPTS) and its tetraphenylethylene derivative (TPB) were selected as ratiometric indicators and incorporated into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrix to produce HPTS/TPB-PVA films. The films responded well to amine vapors, and the interference of aromatic vapors did not substantially affect the fluorescence signals of the films.

This study aims to explore the changes in the ankle and gait after using the harvested anterior half of the peroneus longus tendon as a reconstruction graft for the anterior cruciate ligament.
Methods: A total of 20 patients, 6 males and 14 females, aged 18 to 44 years, with unilateral anterior cruciate ligament injuries, underwent reconstruction using the harvested anterior half of the peroneus longus tendon as a graft between June 2021 and December 2021.
Background: It has been controversial that whether hardware removal will increase the risk of osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) in fracture-healed patients who underwent internal fixation for femoral neck fractures (FNFs). This meta-analysis aimed to clarify the association of hardware removal with secondary hardware removal-induced ONFH (HR-ONFH).
Methods: Four electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library) were searched for eligible studies published up to March 10, 2023.
Objectives: The aim of the present study was to introduce a novel three-dimensional computed tomography (3DCT)-based three-column classification (named "MLP classification system") of intertrochanteric fractures and evaluate its reproducibility and reliability.
Methods: From September 2020 to September 2022, a total of 258 consecutive patients (60 male, 198 female;mean age 81.3 years) with intertrochanteric fractures were included in this study.
Purpose: Negative buttress reduction should be avoided in the treatment of femoral neck fractures (FNFs) using conventional fixation. As the femoral neck system (FNS) has been recently developed and utilized widely to treat FNFs, the association of reduction quality with postoperative complications and clinical function has not been clarified. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical effect of nonanatomical reduction in young patients with FNFs treated with FNS.

Adopting the information processing perspective, the current study aims to investigate the differential effects of affective and cognitive ruminations on individuals' affective states and learning behavior, and to further explore their differential mediating roles in transmitting effects of challenge and hindrance stressors on affect and behavior. A two-wave survey, in which stressors and ruminations were measured in the first wave and affective states and learning behavior were measured in the second, was conducted to obtain responses from 410 employees. As expected, affective and cognitive ruminations were differently associated with challenge stressors (i.

Extant research has consistently demonstrated that negative perfectionism is an important driver of procrastination. However, existing studies suffer from several salient limitations, such as an inadequacy in understanding its mediating mechanism, and the lack of an overarching theoretical framework. Accordingly, the present study adopts the ego depletion theory to investigate how and under what conditions negative perfectionism leads to procrastination.

Methods: From October 2019 to October 2020, 12 patients with tibial avulsion fracture of posterior cruciate ligament were treated with the arthroscopic knot-free anchor and Endobuton titanium plate, including 9 males and 3 females. The age ranged from 23 to 58 years old.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has brought about unprecedented uncertainty and challenges to the worldwide economy and people's everyday life. Anecdotal and scientific evidence has documented the existence of a positive relationship between the experience of crisis and creativity. Though this appears to be ubiquitous, the crisis-creativity-well-being relationship has not been sufficiently examined across countries and using a working adult sample.

Using the two-wave survey data from 24 supervisors and their 192 respective subordinates, we found supports for our hypotheses that (a) abusive supervision mediated the effect of supervisors' ego depletion on subordinates' ego depletion; (b) subordinates' ego depletion mediated the effect of abusive supervision on subordinates' deviant behavior; and (c) abusive supervision and subordinates' ego depletion serially mediated the effect of supervisors' ego depletion on subordinates' deviant behavior. Our serial crossover model posits that both ego depletion and unethical behavior can be transmitted from supervisors to subordinates, and that these two crossover processes are entwined with each other.

Perceived control is an individual variation that may play a buffering role between stress and overall adjustment. In this study, we addressed the moderating effects of perceived control between academic stress and working memory.

The results obtained from evaluating the impact of urbanization, however, depend on the kind of measurement used. With the goal of increasing our understanding of the impact of urbanization, we developed direct and indirect subjective indicators to measure how people assess their living situation.

The current study examined the scale's psychometric properties with a large Chinese sample.
Principal Findings: Data were collected form 21,322 full-time workers from the power industry.
A monoclonal antibody, 3BIgG, against the prokaryotically expressed foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) non-structural protein (NSP) 3B was obtained. The 3BIgG-sepharose conjugant (3BmAb-6BFF) was prepared by adding the purified 3BIgG into epoxy-activated sepharose 6BFF, incubating with the inactivated FMDV, and then removing the sepharose by centrifugation. The vaccine was made from the supernatant emulsified with oil-adjuvant ISA206.

We now report on the progression of this effect and the development of new variations after the quake as well as investigating potential explanations.
Methodology/principal Findings: We conducted two sequential surveys of 5,216 residents in non-devastated and devastated areas in September-October 2008 and April-May 2009.
During the first half of 2008, China suffered three natural disasters: a heavy snow storm, an outbreak of hand-foot-mouth disease, and a severe earthquake. The aim of the present study is to explore how low-probability/high-consequence events influence overconfidence. In Study 1, opportunity samples were obtained by recruiting residents in three different types of disaster-hit areas to answer a peer-comparison probability judgment questionnaire about 1 month after the corresponding disaster occurred.
