Aims: Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is frequently detected via echocardiography in individuals with Fabry disease (FD), sometimes leading to confusion with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) of other aetiologies. Considering this diagnosis challenge, FD should be included in the list of differential diagnosis for patients presenting with LVH. To address this concern, we conducted a prospective screening study in China, using dried blood spot (DBS) testing, to evaluate patients with unexplained LVH.

NGPV can infect both Cherry Valley ducks and mule ducks, resulting in short beaks and dwarfism syndrome, and the incidence of short beaks and dwarfism syndrome rises annually, posing a significant threat to the waterfowl breeding and the animal husbandry. Therefore, clarifying the biological characteristics and genetic evolution of NGPV is very important for the prevention and control of NGPV.

The contamination of trace elements in Chinese edible herbs has attracted worldwide concern over the world. The objective of the present study was to investigate the occurrence and exposure assessment of eight trace elements in Rhizoma Cibotii from China. For this purpose, the method of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was employed to detect the contamination levels of target trace elements in 58 Rhizoma Cibotii samples.

Since digital chest drainage has already shown improved accuracy and consistency in the management of postoperative air leak, we incorporated it in the strategy of intraoperative chest tube withdrawal, aiming to achieve better results.
Methods: We collected the clinical data of 114 consecutive patients who underwent elective uniportal VATS pulmonary wedge resection at the Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital from May 2021 to February 2022.

Methods: By a random number table method, 90 patients with COPD admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were divided into three groups: the control group (conventional treatment), the observation group A (conventional treatment + pulmonary rehabilitation training three times a week) and the observation group B (conventional treatment + pulmonary rehabilitation training five times a week), with 30 patients in each group. The pulmonary function, exercise tolerance (the 6-min walking distance (6MWD)), sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)) and quality of life (generic quality of life inventory-74 (GQOLI-74)) before and after intervention were compared among the three groups.
Background: PTPRG antisense RNA 1 has been well-documented to exert an oncogenic role in diverse neoplasms. However, the precise role of PTPRG antisense RNA 1 in regulating radiosensitivity of nonsmall cell lung cancer cells remains largely elusive.
Methods: Expression levels of PTPRG antisense RNA 1 and miR-200c-3p in nonsmall cell lung cancer tissues and cells were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, while transcription factor 4 expression was examined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot.
Background: Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP) is the focus and difficult problem in the world at present, and we found that Chinese patent medicine(CPM) shown a more miraculous effect. Many kinds of Chinese patent medicine have been proved to be effective in the treatment of this disease, but it is still unclear which kind of Chinese patent medicine has the best effect. Therefore, we propose a network meta-analysis (NMA) protocol to observe the efficacy of various CPM for this disease and provide guidance for clinical practice.

However, the existing therapy of PD cannot fundamentally treat the disease. Meanwhile, the complementary and alternative therapies of PD have played a positive role in the treatment of PD.

It is used widely in clinical practice, although bacterial drug resistance makes its clinical use problematic. The authors hypothesized that subtherapeutic concentrations of cefotiam leads to bacterial resistance.

It had been identified that point mutation or genomic duplications of the long-range limb-specific cis-regulator - zone of polarizing activity regulatory sequence (ZRS) cause PPD or other limb deformities such as syndactyly type IV (SD4) and Triphalangeal thumb-polysyndactyly syndrome (TPTPS). Most previously reported cases involved with no more than one extra finger; however, the role of the point mutation or genomic duplications of ZRS in the case of more than one redundant finger polydactyly remains unclear.

Methods: A total of 111 cases of the mandibular defect caused by various reasons and repaired by titanium reconstruction plate in the Department Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from 2003 to 2012 were collected and followed up. The complications were analyzed.
Radiotherapy is one of the important treatments for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. The treatment response (or efficacy), however, is limited in many patients due to acquired radiation resistance of cancer cells. Immediate-early response 5 (IER5) is one of the genes upregulated on radiation.
