High frequency ultrasound can enhance olive oil extractability industrially. However, the ultrasound attenuation phenomena and their implications on extractability, are not well understood. This work aims at evaluating the ultrasound attenuation effects on the oil extraction efficiency, while providing deeper insights into the physics behind the ultrasound extraction in a heterogeneous medium.

This work examined the effect of ultrasound conditioning of avocado puree on oil extractability and quality, at low (18+40kHz) and high (2MHz) frequencies, at litre-scale. Other ultrasound parameters evaluated included high frequency effect (0.

This work investigated the application of megasonics in the olive oil process on laboratory and pilot scale levels. Sound pressure level and cavitational yield distribution were characterised with hydrophones and luminol to determine associated physical and sonochemical effects inside the reactor.

The principle for this separation technology relies on the differential positioning of individual droplets or particles across an ultrasonic standing wave field within the reactor and subsequent biomass material predisposition for separation via rapid droplet agglomeration or coalescence into larger entities. Large scale transducers have been characterised with sonochemiluminescence and hydrophones to enable better reactor designs.

Also, there is growing interest in incorporating highly unsaturated omega-3 oils in to food products due to beneficial health effects. A major obstacle to incorporating highly unsaturated oils in to food products is the extreme susceptibility to oxidative deterioration.

Objective: To analyze the private hospital the individual characteristics of virtual team members to run the hospital medical process for the impact of the differences, the private hospital managers to develop management strategies for scientific and rational basis.
Methods: Four different regions of the empirical investigation of private hospitals, and the use of SPSS software for statistical analysis of survey data.
Results: The ages of staff in dealing with the original terms of team cohesion were significant differences; gender, education, job titles and other features of the nature and impact of medical procedures for the difference was not statistically significant.
The focus of this study was to investigate Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibiting activity across 34 teas (Camellia sinensis) produced by 5 different processing methods including green (GT), oolong (OT), white (WT), black (BT) and dark (DT) teas. In vitro ACE inhibitory activity was affected by the tea processing method with IC(50) values for ACE inhibition: green < oolong < white < black < dark teas. Substrate-dependence of the reaction kinetics was studied for GT and BT polyphenolic size fractions either < or > 3 kDa and also Green Tea Polyphenolic Isolate (GTPI), and revealed that enzyme velocity curves fitted allosteric, not Michaelis-Menten, relationships.

To optimize the production of theaflavins, response surface methodology was applied to determine the effects of five critical variables and their mutual interactions on theaflavin biosynthesis at five levels. A total of 52 individual experiments were performed and a statistical model predicted that the highest theaflavin concentration was 0.
