Fabricating tubular hydrogel models with arbitrary structural complexity and controllable diameters using an ultrafast, facile yet universal method is desirable for vascular prototypes yet still a great challenge. Herein, inspired by the denaturing ability of spider silks, a novel strategy to induce complexation applying highly concentrated alkali into a polyvinyl alcohol/ionic liquid (PVA/IL) solution, , alkali-induced molecular aggregation (AMA), is proposed to achieve such purpose. This strategy enables the rapid and facile fabrication of tubular hydrogel architectures with tunable diameters, controllable thicknesses, and excellent mechanical performance with a tensile strength of up to 1.

Methods: Between December 2022 and February 2023, a cohort of 165 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine were analyzed. The participants represented various stages of coronavirus infection severity: mild, moderate, severe, and critical.
Membranes (Basel)
April 2023
A novel approach to evaporate brine wastewater using a ceramic aeration membrane was proposed. A high-porosity ceramic membrane was selected as the aeration membrane and was modified with hydrophobic modifiers to avoid undesired surface wetting. The water contact angle of the ceramic aeration membrane reached 130° after hydrophobic modification.

Therefore, a new method for reducing the surface roughness of the micro-CM needs to be developed.

However, the detection sensitivity and accuracy are often affected by the interferences of autofluorescence and photon scattering from nitrocellulose membrane and colored plasma. Here, we describe a near-infrared to near-infrared upconversion nanoparticle (UCNP) immunolabeled LFA for background-free chromatographic detection of sepsis biomarker procalcitonin (PCT) in clinical human plasma.

Whether did the chirality and configuration of the amino acids play an important role. By using different configuration of amino acids, 4 types of polyamide-imides (PAIs) containing dipeptides of LL, DL, LD, and DD configurations, respectively, were synthesized.
