Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) have important applications in clinical practice on early tumor diagnosis, prognostic prediction, and treatment evaluation. Platinum-based chemotherapy is a fundamental treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who are not suitable for targeted drug therapies. However, most patients progressed after a period of treatment.

Two novel depsipeptides xenematides F and G (1, 2), were isolated from entomopathogenic Xenorhabdus budapestensis SN84 along with a known compound xenematide B. The structures of the two new molecules were elucidated using NMR, MS and Marfey's method. The xenematide G (2) contains α-aminoheptanoic acid, a non-protein amino acid that is rarely found in secondary metabolites from entomopathogenic bacteria.

Objective: To examine the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) distributed in exon 20, 21 and intron 20 of epidermal growth factor precursor gene (preproEGF) of Buyi and Han individuals.

Methods: Eleven primer sets were designed and synthesized for PCR, that genomic DNA of Buyi or Han individual was used as the template, to amplify and sequence respectively the large fragment DNA from preproEGF gene. BLAST programs were applied to compare and identify the SNPs from the sequenced PCR products or amplified DNA fragments.

Objective: To provide new atrazine-degrading strains for atrazine-polluted soil, we isolated the high-efficiency degradation bacterium from contaminated soil, identified with taxonomy, and studied the degrading characteristics and remediation capability of the strain in black soil.

Methods: We used morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics and 16S rDNA sequences analysis to identify the strain. We studied the effect of environmental factors such as incubation time, temperature and pH on the strain growth and atrazine degradation to confirm the optimum degradation conditions.
