Background: Young athletes who undergo surgery for a rotator cuff tear (RCT) are expected to return to sports (RTS) at the preinjury level.
Purpose: To determine the rate and level of RTS and associated factors after RCT surgery in young athletes.
Study Design: Systematic review; Level of evidence, 4.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD), a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, and is associated with a wide range of risk factors, and genetically associated conditions. While many CVDs are preventable and early detection alongside treatment can significantly mitigate complication risks, current prediction models for CVDs need enhancements for better accuracy. Mendelian randomization (MR) offers a novel approach for estimating the causal relationship between exposure and outcome by using genetic variation in quasi-experimental data.

Due to their impressive biological activities, ACNs have gained significant popularity and extensive application within the food, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical industries. A derivative of ACNs: pyranoanthocyanins (PACNs) possesses more stable properties and interesting biological activities.

The coral Ni/Ca has become a reliable proxy for characterizing marine pollution, but this potential has been unexploited for highlighting oil pollution. Here, we utilized a high-resolution record of geochemical parameters (Ni/Ca, δO, and δC) in a Porites coral of an offshore island in the northern South China Sea to reconstruct of Ni distribution patterns in surface seawater from 1984 to 2015.

Type I interferon (IFN-I) exerts an important effect to resist infections caused by viruses such as HCMV, while IFN evasion may serve as a key determining factor for viral dissemination and disease occurrence within hosts. In this study, UL23, a tegument protein of HCMV, was confirmed to be a key factor for negatively regulating the type I IFN immune response.

Methods: Between January 1991 and January 2005, complete clinical data of 197 patients with stage IV proximal gastric cancer undergoing PTG, 642 patients undergoing curative total gastrectomy (CTG), 152 nonsurgical patients, 102 patients undergoing explorative laparotomy, and 78 patients undergoing jejunostomy were enrolled in this study.

Aim: To analyze the factors influencing the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer after surgical treatment, in order to optimize the surgical procedures.
Methods: A retrospective study of 2 613 consecutive patients with gastric cancer was performed. Of these patients, 2,301 (88.
