Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of using an absorbable gelatin sponge as an intrascleral buckle in rabbit eyes; it also monitored degradation of the gelatin sponge over time.

Methods: Ten New Zealand white rabbits underwent surgery to implant an absorbable gelatin sponge as an intrascleral buckle. Weekly ophthalmic examinations were conducted before and after the procedure until the implant was fully absorbed.

In this study, peptide-calcium chelate was screened from antler bone hydrolysate, and its bioactivity on MC3T3-E1 cells and its chelating mechanism were investigated. In vitro experiments showed that peptide-calcium chelate promoted the differentiation and mineralization of MC3T3-E1 cells. Subsequently, three novel calcium-chelating peptides were obtained from antler bone hydrolysate using hydroxyapatite chromatography (HAC), Sephadex G-25 gel filtration chromatography, and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).

To establish a rapid real-time RT-PCR method for differentiating wild-type classical swine fever virus (CSFV) strains from vaccine strains (HCLV), we designed a universal primer targeting the gene to detect wild-type CSFV strains and vaccine strains simultaneously, and two TaqMan-MGB probes were designed to differentiate between wild-type and vaccine strains. After optimizing the RT-qPCR conditions, a rapid dual TaqMan-MGB RT-qPCR method for the detection and identification of CSFV and HCLV was developed. The results showed that method could specifically detect CSFV and HCLV with no cross-reactivity with other swine pathogens.

Owing to their distinct chemical and physical properties, mesoporous metal oxide semiconductors have shown great application potential in catalysis, electrochemistry, energy conversion, and energy storage. In this study, mesoporous crystalline SnO materials have been synthesized through an evaporation-induced co-assembly (EICA) method using poly(ethylene oxide)-b-polystyrene diblock copolymers as the template, tin chlorides as the tin sources, and tetrahydrofuran as the solvent. By controlling conditions of the co-assembly process and employing a carbon-supported thermal treatment strategy, highly ordered mesoporous SnO materials with a hexagonal mesostructure (space group P6/mmc) and crystalline pore walls can be obtained.
