Burns are common traumatic injuries affecting many people worldwide. Development of specialized burn units, advances in acute care modalities, and burn prevention programs have successfully reduced the mortality rate of severe burns. Autologous skin grafting has been considered as the gold standard for wound coverage after the removal of burned skin.

Because of its ultra-rarity and unclear mechanism, this rare disease has no established treatment regimen. Herein, we reported a Chinese woman who presented with congenital generalized pruritic erythroderma and exfoliation, notable for significantly elevated IgE levels.

Aim: The study aims to investigate the impact of immunosuppressants especially glucocorticoids on patients in the Autoimmune Bullous Diseases Cohort of West China Hospital (AIBDWCH) during COVID-19.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey from December 7, 2022, to February 8, 2023, using questionnaires administered either face-to-face or by phone.
Unlabelled: Previous studies have profiled the gut microbiota among psoriatic patients compared to that among healthy individuals. However, a comprehensive understanding of the magnitude, direction, and detailed compositional and functional profiles remains limited. Additionally, research exploring the gut microbiota in the context of both plaque psoriasis (PsO) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is lacking.

In this study, three different modeling methods, including phenol mucilage combined mechanical scraping, ethanol combined mechanical scraping and ethanol modeling alone were designed. The morphological characteristics of the models were evaluated.

Ofatumumab, another CD20 monoclonal antibody administrated subcutaneously, provides a possible alternative option. In this study, three patients experienced PV relapse after clinical remission induced by rituximab.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: Rituximab (RTX) is considered the first-line treatment for pemphigus vulgaris (PV), which is a B-cell-mediated acquired autoimmune disease. However, no consensus on the optimum dosage has been achieved.
Objectives: To investigate the efficacy and safety of low-dose RTX (a single infusion of 500 mg) for the treatment of PV, a cohort study was conducted for patients with PV, along with a 12-month follow-up following the administration of RTX.
Linear IgA/IgG bullous dermatosis (LAGBD) is a rare autoimmune subepidermal bullous disorder characterized by linear deposition of concurrent IgA and IgG autoantibodies along the basement membrane zone (BMZ). The clinical features of LAGBD can be diverse, including tense blisters, erosions, erythema, crusting and mucosa involvement, while papules or nodules are generally absent. In this study, we present a unique case of LAGBD, which showed prurigo nodularis-like clinical appearance on physical examination, linear deposition of IgG and C3 along the basement membrane zone (BMZ) in direct immunofluorescence (DIF), IgA autoantibodies against the 97-kDa and 120-kDa of BP180 and IgG autoantibodies against the 97-kDa of BP180 by immunoblotting (IB), while BP180 NC16a domain, BP230, and laminin 332 were negative by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Objectives: We aimed to explore the effect of ambient temperature on AD and to estimate the burdens of AD attributed to extreme temperature.
Methods: Data on outpatients with AD and climate conditions in Chengdu, China were collected.
Background: Gut dysbiosis and gut microbiome-derived metabolites have been implicated in both disease onset and treatment response, but this has been rarely demonstrated in pemphigus vulgaris (PV). Here, we aim to systematically characterize the gut microbiome to assess the specific microbial species and metabolites associated with PV.
Methods: We enrolled 60 PV patients and 19 matched healthy family members, and collected 100 fecal samples (60 treatment-naïve, 21 matched post-treatment, and 19 controls).
PASS syndrome is a rare inflammatory disease characterized by a chronic-relapsing course of pyoderma gangrenosum, acne vulgaris, hidradenitis suppurativa, and spondyloarthritis, which is lack of any biological or genetic marker. Moreover, the optimal therapeutic management remains unclear. We herein describe a Yi Chinese man with PASS syndrome who was treated with secukinumab and showed a remarkable response with almost complete clinical improvement at the 2-year follow-up.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAzathioprine (AZA) is the preferred immunosuppressant for treating pemphigus vulgaris (PV), with discontinuation mainly attributed to hematological adverse events (AE). Reportedly, nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X-type motif 15 (NUDT15) polymorphisms have been strongly associated with thiopurine-induced leukopenia. To investigate hematological AE of low-dose AZA based on NUDT15 genotypes among patients with PV, a prospective cohort study was conducted in patients with PV, followed-up for the first 8 weeks after AZA administration.

However, recent studies have suggested that integrin-associated JEB may occur without PA but with other symptoms of the epithelial tissues. Here, we present a case of a Chinese woman with JEB without PA but with profound urinary symptoms.

Traditional treatment is with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these which often results in considerable discomfort to the patient. Here we describe a potential alternative which employs a near-infrared (NIR) responsive dissolvable microneedle system (HMPBs&DOX@HA MNs) made of hyaluronic acid (HA) with hollow mesoporous Prussian blue nanoparticles (HMPBs) loaded with doxorubicin (DOX).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA major challenge in chemotherapy is chemotherapy resistance in cells lacking p53. Here we demonstrate that NIP30, an inhibitor of the oncogenic REGγ-proteasome, attenuates cancer cell growth and sensitizes p53-compromised cells to chemotherapeutic agents. NIP30 acts by binding to REGγ via an evolutionarily-conserved serine-rich domain with 4-serine phosphorylation.

Here, we reported a case of persistent refractory PV in a Chinese patient with three runs of AZA-corticosteroids treatment. In the first two runs he received AZA-corticosteroids at standard or slightly reduced doses and developed leukopenia.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA microneedle (MN) is a micron-sized needle with a height of 10-2000 μm and a width of 10-50 μm, which can penetrate through the epidermis layer to dermal tissue directly without pain. Microneedles are widely used in transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) because they are efficient, safe, convenient and painless. Morphologically, microneedles are divided into four types: solid microneedles, coated microneedles, dissolving microneedles, and hollow microneedles.

CCN1 is a novel and essential regulator during angiogenesis. We evaluated whether CCN1 and BM-MNC are capable of promoting angiogenesis in hindlimb ischemia.
