Peeling skin syndrome type 1 (PSS1) is an autosomal recessive genodermatosis caused by the CDSN gene loss-of-function mutation and characterized by widespread superficial skin peeling and erythroderma with unbearable pruritus. Because of its ultra-rarity and unclear mechanism, this rare disease has no established treatment regimen. Herein, we reported a Chinese woman who presented with congenital generalized pruritic erythroderma and exfoliation, notable for significantly elevated IgE levels.

Linear IgA/IgG bullous dermatosis (LAGBD) is a rare autoimmune subepidermal bullous disorder characterized by linear deposition of concurrent IgA and IgG autoantibodies along the basement membrane zone (BMZ). The clinical features of LAGBD can be diverse, including tense blisters, erosions, erythema, crusting and mucosa involvement, while papules or nodules are generally absent. In this study, we present a unique case of LAGBD, which showed prurigo nodularis-like clinical appearance on physical examination, linear deposition of IgG and C3 along the basement membrane zone (BMZ) in direct immunofluorescence (DIF), IgA autoantibodies against the 97-kDa and 120-kDa of BP180 and IgG autoantibodies against the 97-kDa of BP180 by immunoblotting (IB), while BP180 NC16a domain, BP230, and laminin 332 were negative by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

PASS syndrome is a rare inflammatory disease characterized by a chronic-relapsing course of pyoderma gangrenosum, acne vulgaris, hidradenitis suppurativa, and spondyloarthritis, which is lack of any biological or genetic marker. Moreover, the optimal therapeutic management remains unclear. We herein describe a Yi Chinese man with PASS syndrome who was treated with secukinumab and showed a remarkable response with almost complete clinical improvement at the 2-year follow-up.

A major challenge in chemotherapy is chemotherapy resistance in cells lacking p53. Here we demonstrate that NIP30, an inhibitor of the oncogenic REGγ-proteasome, attenuates cancer cell growth and sensitizes p53-compromised cells to chemotherapeutic agents. NIP30 acts by binding to REGγ via an evolutionarily-conserved serine-rich domain with 4-serine phosphorylation.

Although azathioprine (AZA) combined with corticosteroids remains the first-line therapy to treat patients with pemphigus vulgaris (PV), there are increasing reports of AZA-induced leukopenia, which provides the rationale for monitoring the blood cell count and testing the genotypes at the thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) and the nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X-type motif 15 (NUDT15) genes. Here, we reported a case of persistent refractory PV in a Chinese patient with three runs of AZA-corticosteroids treatment. In the first two runs he received AZA-corticosteroids at standard or slightly reduced doses and developed leukopenia.

Implantation of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM-MNCs) has been performed in ischemic tissues, for stimulation of angiogenesis, but the limited number of BM-MNCs in patients with hindlimb ischemia disease may offset their overall therapeutic efficacy.
