Background: Whether healthy behaviors can attenuate the adverse association between ambient fine particulate matter (PM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is inconclusive.
Methods And Results: The parametric g-formula was used to quantify the potential reduction in PM effect on CVD under different scenarios of hypothetical behavioral interventions (including dietary patterns, physical activity, body mass index, alcohol consumption, smoking, and dietary supplements). Feasible intervention scenarios, defined on the basis of values considered feasible in previous real-world interventions (eg, overweight participants lose 6.

However, associations between cardiovascular biological age (CBA) and various types of cardiovascular disease (CVD) remain unclear.
Methods And Results: Analyzing 262,343 UK Biobank participants, we constructed CBA based on composite biomarkers using the Klemera-Doubal method (denoted as KDM-CBA).
Bio-inspired coral-derived scaffolds have been adopted for bone regeneration. However, these confront challenges such as the limited osteoinductive properties, environmental concerns, and ambiguous calcification mechanisms in coral proteins. In this study, the role of the recombinant coral protein galaxin in promoting osteogenesis is investigated.

Herein, we report a case of occult epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutant lung adenocarcinoma complicated by prostatic metastasis. A 75-year-old male with >30 years of smoking history presented with lower back pain as the initial symptom. Respiratory symptoms, including cough and sputum production, were absent.

Background And Objective: Recent investigations into Low-Dose Computed Tomography (LDCT) reconstruction methods have brought Model-Based Data-Driven (MBDD) approaches to the forefront. One prominent architecture within MBDD entails the integration of Model-Based Iterative Reconstruction (MBIR) with Deep Learning (DL). While this approach offers the advantage of harnessing information from sinogram and image domains, it also reveals several deficiencies.

This study examines the deformation behaviour and fracture mechanisms of bimetal composites (BCs) composed of high-carbon medium-manganese steel (Mn8) and low-carbon steel (SS400), fabricated through hot roll bonding. The research highlights the effect of varying thickness ratios on the mechanical properties of Mn8/SS400 BCs. The microstructure and interfacial characteristics were analysed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), revealing a well-bonded and defect-free interface with distinct elemental distributions.

Background: Nonuniform sampling is a useful technique to optimize the acquisition of projections with a limited budget. Existing methods for selecting important projection views have limitations, such as relying on blueprint images or excessive computing resources.
Methods: We aim to develop a simple nonuniform sampling method for selecting informative projection views suitable for practical CT applications.
In this study, the stick-slip behaviour of synthesised water-based nanolubricants was investigated an Rtec ball-on-disk tribometer. By varying the lubricating conditions, including the concentration of hBN/TiO as nanoadditives, the tribological properties and lubrication mechanisms were analysed, especially the stick-slip phenomenon. Compared with dry and wet conditions, the hBN/TiO nanolubricant presented better efficiency in mitigating stick-slip and achieving friction stability.

We therefore sought to estimate the associations between changes in drinking levels and MASLD in less developed regions of China.
Methods: This longitudinal study included 8727 participants from the China Multi-Ethnic Cohort (CMEC) in less developed regions, all participating in baseline and a follow-up survey.
Gut microbiota affects host health and disease. Large-scale cohorts have explored the interactions between the microbiota, host, and environment to reveal the disease-associated microbiota variation. A population-level gut metagenomic cohort is still rare in China.

Conversely, light field (LF) reconstruction provides satisfactory low-frequency geometry but sacrifices spatial resolution, impacting high-frequency detail quality. To tackle these challenges, we propose a photometric stereoscopic light field measurement (PSLFM) scheme that harnesses the strengths of both methods.

For example, three-dimensional differential phase contrast (3D DPC) imaging uses through-focus images captured under different illumination patterns deconvoluted with a computed 3D phase transfer function (PTF) to reconstruct the 3D refractive index. In conventional 3D DPC with semi-circular illumination, partially spatially coherent illumination often diminishes phase contrast, exacerbating inherent noise, and can lead to a large number of zero values in the 3D PTF, resulting in strong low-frequency artifacts and deteriorating imaging resolution.

Our current research explored the prognostic value, biological function and targeting strategy of KIF11 in EC through approaches including bioinformatics, machine learning and experimental studies.
Methods: The GSE17025 dataset from the GEO database was analyzed via the limma package to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in EC.
() is an important medicinal plant in the Aconitum genus that is known for its diterpenoid alkaloids, which exhibit significant pharmacological activity and toxicity, thus making it valuable for both medicinal use and as a biopesticide. Although the biosynthesis of terpenoids is well characterized, the potential gene regulatory role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in terpenoid biosynthesis in remains unclear, and further research is needed to explore this aspect in this species. In this study, miRNA sequencing was conducted to analyze the miRNA population and its targets in .

Local administration of mitochondria may enhance ovarian function in premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) by ameliorating diminished mitochondrial activity. Nevertheless, there is a paucity of literature on the efficacy of mitochondrial transplantation through intravenous injection, a less invasive and more convenient method than local injection, for the improvement of ovarian function in POI following chemotherapy.

However, previous studies have primarily focused on the role of chlorine in passivating surface trap defects in SnO, without considering its influence on the buried interface. Here, hydrochloric acid (HCl) is introduced as a chlorine source into commercial SnO to form Cl-capped SnO (Cl-SnO) ETL, aiming to optimize the buried interface of the PSC.
