A synergistic photoredox/cobalt/chromium triple catalysis system for regioselective, enantioselective, and diastereoselective 1,4-hydrocarbonation of readily available 1,3-enyne precursors was explored, providing a modular synthetic platform for various trisubstituted axially chiral allenes bearing an extra central chirality. The protocol features a broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, excellent selectivity, and mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, a possible reaction mechanism is proposed based on numerous control experiments and density functional theory calculations.

In this work, a superhydrophobic polypropylene (PP) replica with nanowires is fabricated using an injection compression molding (ICM) process. The morphology, superhydrophobicity and fog water harvesting efficiency of the as-prepared PP replica surface are investigated. In this work, polypropylene (PP) and PP/poly(ethylene--octene) (PP/POE) blend replica surfaces with densely arranged nanowires are fabricated using a molding process. Morphology analysis shows that the nanowires on these replica surfaces have sharp tips and high aspect ratios. The droplet impact behaviors on the surfaces of the PP/POE blend replicas and PP replicas are investigated before and after freezing at -20 °C for 4 h.

An aminomethylation reaction of fulleropyrrolidines bearing ketone moieties in the presence of -unsubstituted fulleropyrrolidines and paraformaldehyde with the aid of -toluenesulfonic acid afforded a series of scarce pendant fullerene dimers. A simple change of reaction substrates from ketone to ketone-containing fulleropyrrolidines successfully realized the synthesis of a variety of novel pendant fullerene dimers, including those from methyl ketone-containing fulleropyrrolidines, which were considered to produce the known bridged fullerene dimers. It should be noted that pendant fullerene dimers are usually difficult to prepare by other methods and may have promising applications in perovskite solar cells.

Eighty-nine doctors under training who rotated in the Department of Emergency Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January 2021 to January 2022 were selected as the study subjects, and randomly divided into a group receiving mind mapping combined with PBL teaching and a group receiving traditional lecture-based learning teaching. Mini-clinical evaluation exercise (Mini-CEX), direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS), teaching adherence, and satisfaction assessments were completed at the time of discharge from the department.

Two-dimensional hybrid lead perovskites have attracted a great deal of attention in white-light-emitting diodes, but the serious toxicity of Pb and the limited photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) still restrict further optoelectronic application. To address these issues, a new combining photon strategy was proposed to achieve highly efficient broadband white-light emission in a new family of zero-dimensional (0D) indium halides based on an [InCl] octahedron. Remarkably, these 0D halides display dual-band white-light emission derived from the synergistic work of blue- and yellow-light-emitting bands, which can be ascribed to the radiative recombination of bound excitons in organic cations and self-trapped excitons in inorganic anions, respectively, based on spectroscopy and theoretical studies.

We describe a catalytic strategy for direct single C(sp)-F bond alkylation of trifluoromethylbenzimidazoles under a photoinduced thiol catalysis process. The CO radical anion (CO) proved to be the most efficient single-electron reductant to realize such a transformation. The spin-center shift of the generated radical anion intermediate is the key step in realizing C-F bond activation under mild conditions with high efficiency.
