Plant invasions and microplastics (MPs) have significantly altered the structure and function of aquatic habitats worldwide, resulting in severe damage to aquatic ecosystem health. However, the effects of MPs on plant invasion and the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we conducted mesocosm experiments over a 90-day period to assess the effects of polystyrene microplastics on the invasion of exotic submerged macrophytes, sediment physicochemical properties, and sediment bacterial communities.

In this Letter, we propose a tunable double notch filter on thin-film lithium niobate using dual microring architecture. This unique integrated filter is essential for complex photonic integrated circuits, along with multiple channels and various frequency spacing.

Although covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising materials for promoting photocatalytic HO production owing to their structural and functional diversity, they typically suffer from low charge-generation and -transfer efficiencies as well as rapid charge recombination, which restricts their use as catalysts for photocatalytic HO production. Herein, we report a strategy for anchoring vinyl moieties to a COF skeleton to facilitate charge separation and migration, thereby promoting photocatalytic HO generation.

Transient receptor potential vanilloid 4 (TRPV4) is a widely expressed cation channel that plays an important role in many physiological and pathological processes. However, most TRPV4 drugs carry a risk of side effects. Moreover, existing screening methods are not suitable for the high-throughput screening (HTS) of drugs.

This hinders its efficient reuse in construction or material industries. To enhance the versatility of fly ash applications, a novel surface modification technique, termed SuMo, has been developed to create a hydrophobic polysulfide polymer coating on the surface of fly ash particles.

Objectives: Intravascular large B-cell lymphomas are a rare group of extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphomas with no apparent specificity of symptoms and often a poor prognosis. This study aims to investigate the clinical features and imaging manifestations of intravascular large B-cell lymphoma, to improve the awareness of clinicians and imaging physicians and to reduce the underdiagnosis and misdiagnosis of this disease.
Methods: Five patients with pathologically confirmed intravascular large B-cell lymphoma diagnosed between December 2011 and February 2022 at Xiangya Hospital of Central South University were retrospectively analyzed for clinical features and imaging manifestations.
Urban forests are essential for maintaining urban ecological stability. As decomposers, soil microorganisms play an indispensable role in the stability of urban forest ecosystems, promoting the material cycle of the ecosystems. This study used high-throughput sequencing technology to explore the bacteria in six forest stands, including (ZL), (SSL), (SZY), mixed broad-leaved shrub forest (ZKG), mixed pine and cypress forest (SBL), and mixed broad-leaved tree forest (ZKQ).

The microstructures and thermal and electrical properties of the composites were tested. The electrostatic potential distribution, energy level distribution, and molecular orbitals of BMI were calculated using Gaussian.

Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs) exhibit potent self-renewal and multilineage differentiation characteristics. They have garnered substantial attention within the domain of regenerative medicine owing to their therapeutic potential, such as in tissue repair, regeneration, immunomodulation, anti-inflammation, angiogenesis, wound healing, neuroprotection, and neuroregeneration. The process of fate determination is initiated by multiple signaling molecules.

S086 is a novel ARNi cocrystal developed by Salubris for the treatment of heart failure and hypertension.
Methods: Dahl Salt Sensitive (DSS) hypertensive rat model and telemetry system were employed in this study to investigate the anti-hypertensive efficacy of S086 and compare it with the first ARNi-LCZ696.
Background: Studies of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in resectable non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) have been conducted. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the benefits of osimertinib as neoadjuvant therapy for resectable EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
Method: This retrospective study evaluated patients with EGFR mutations in exon 19 or 21 who received targeted therapy with osimertinib (80 mg per day) before surgery between January 2019 and October 2023 in Henan Cancer Hospital.

Miniaturization of health care, biomedical, and chemical systems is highly desirable for developing point-of-care testing (POCT) technologies. In system miniaturization, micropumps represent one of the major bottlenecks due to their undesirable pumping performance at such small sizes. Here, we developed a microelectromechanical system fabricated acoustic micropump based on an ultrahigh-frequency bulk acoustic wave resonator.

Here we demonstrate that MoErs1, a species-specific effector protein secreted by the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, inhibits the function of rice papain-like cysteine protease OsRD21 involved in rice immunity. Disrupting MoErs1-OsRD21 interaction effectively controls rice blast.
