Given the unique charm of dipole chemistry, intercepting N-O=C dipoles precisely generated by designed processes to develop novel reactivity has become a seminal challenge. The polar fragmentation of 1,3,2-dioxazolidine species generated through the radical addition of excited nitro(hetero)arenes to alkenes represents a significantly underappreciated mechanism for generating N-O=C dipoles. Herein, we present a photoinduced Bartoli indole synthesis by the oxidative cleavage of alkenes with nitro(hetero)arenes.

This paper proposes a highly sensitive LFIA platform based on a hierarchical magneto-colorimetric compact. This compact serves as both the target magnetic enrichment substrate and a photosensitive label.

The surface of the polystyrene microplate was firstly carboxylated, and then, 3-aminophenylboronic acid was conjugated to the carboxyl groups through EDC/NHS reaction, creating boronic acid groups as the capture moiety for LPS. A recognition DNA aptamer labeled with the fluorescent dye 6-FAM, which exhibits specificity towards LPS, was selected as the signal reporting moiety.

There is still an absence of real-time detection tools to effectively track in situ 3D-cell performance, hindering a comprehensive understanding of disease progression and drug efficacy assessment. While numerous bioinks have been developed, few are equipped with internal sensors capable of accurate detection.

By sequence comparison of PARP-1 and PARP-2, we identified a possible selective site (S site) consisting of several different amino acid residues of α-5 helix and D-loop. Targeting this S site, 140 compounds were designed, synthesized, and characterized for their anticancer activities and mechanisms.

Methods: Surface plasmon resonance analysis and cellular thermal shift assay were employed to verify the direct binding of LXQ-217 to SHP2.

BiOCl photocatalysis shows great promise for molecular oxygen activation and NO oxidation, but its selective transformation of NO to immobilized nitrate without toxic NO emission is still a great challenge, because of uncontrollable reaction intermediates and pathways. In this study, we demonstrate that the introduction of triangle Cl-Ag -Cl sites on a Cl-terminated, (001) facet-exposed BiOCl can selectively promote one-electron activation of reactant molecular oxygen to intermediate superoxide radicals (⋅O ), and also shift the adsorption configuration of product NO from the weak monodentate binding mode to a strong bidentate mode to avoid unfavorable photolysis. By simultaneously tuning intermediates and products, the Cl-Ag -Cl-landen BiOCl achieved >90 % NO conversion to favorable NO of high selectivity (>97 %) in 10 min under visible light, with the undesired NO concentration below 20 ppb.

Aim: To investigate the potential therapeutic targets and related regulatory biomarkers of GC.
Two-dimensional (2D) layered photocatalysts with highly ordered out-of-plane symmetry usually display robust excitonic effects, thus being ineffective in driving catalytic reactions that necessitate unchained charge carriers. Herein, taking 2D BiOBr as a prototype model, we implement a superficial asymmetric [Br-Bi-O-Bi] stacking in the out-of-plane direction by selectively stripping off the top-layer Br of BiOBr. This local asymmetry disrupts the diagnostic confinement configuration of BiOBr to urge energetic exciton dissociation into charge carriers and further contributes to the emergence of a surface dipole field that powers the subsequent separation of transient electron-hole pairs.

Background: The combination of FFDM and DBT can significantly improve the diagnostic efficiency of breast cancer, but with the increase of breast radiation absorbed dose.
Objectives: To compare and analyze the radiation dose and diagnostic performance of different mammography positions combinations of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) and full-field digital mammography (FFDM) for different density types of breasts.
Methods: This retrospective study involved 1,195 patients who underwent simultaneous breast DBT and FFDM.
Programmed cell death and caspase proteins play a pivotal role in host innate immune response combating pathogen infections. Blocking cell death is employed by many bacterial pathogens as a universal virulence strategy. CopC family type III effectors, including CopC from an environmental pathogen Chromobacterium violaceum, utilize calmodulin (CaM) as a co-factor to inactivate caspases by arginine ADPR deacylization.

Methods: A total of 738 eligible pregnant women who underwent cesarean section from September 2018 to August 2020 were randomly selected from our hospital. Among them, 527 pregnant women successfully delivered vaginally were selected as the observation group, and 211 pregnant women who failed vaginal delivery were selected as the control group.

This paper proposes an accurate short-term prediction model of bike-sharing demand with the hybrid TCN-GRU method. The emergence of shared bicycles has provided people with a low-carbon, green and healthy way of transportation. However, the explosive growth and free-form development of bike-sharing has also brought about a series of problems in the area of urban governance, creating a new opportunity and challenge in the use of a large amount of historical data for regional bike-sharing traffic flow predictions.

Most of the current eye movement models focus on either static tasks (such as image viewing) or simple dynamic tasks (such as video watching), without considering SA. In this study, an eye movement model with the goal of maximizing SA is proposed based on Markov decision process (MDP), which is designed to describe the dynamic eye movement of experienced operators in dynamic interactive tasks.

Regarding the concept and influencing factors of public safety resilience, a three-level public safety resilience framework that includes personal, community, and government levels was proposed in this study. It provided the overall metrics that used the resistance and recovery ability to describe the dynamic characteristics of public safety resilience as well as the resilience assessment indexes on three levels.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCaspases are evolutionarily conserved cysteine proteases that are essential for regulating cell death and are involved in multiple development and disease processes, including immunity. Here, we show that the bacterial type III secretion system (T3SS) effector CopC (Chromobacterium outer protein C) from the environmental pathogen Chromobacterium violaceum attacks caspase-3/-7/-8/-9 by ADPR-deacylization to dysregulate programmed cell death, including apoptosis, necroptosis, and pyroptosis. This modification involves ADP-ribosylation- and deamination-mediated cyclization on Arg207 of caspase-3 by a mechanism that requires the eukaryote-specific protein calmodulin (CaM), leading to inhibition of caspase activity.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFA discrete four-choice response task with auditory signal presentation and a joystick-controlled visual tracking task was used to investigate how spatial compatibility influences the dual-task performance of different display-control settings. It was found that the more incompatible the stimulus-response mapping, the longer the delay for both tasks, presumably because of the longer stimulus encoding time required for the incompatible conditions. A comparison of the findings of this study with those of past experiments on visual visual setting shows that the dual-task performance in a cross-modality (auditory visual) setting was significantly better than that in an intra-modality (visual visual) setting because of visual scanning required in the intra-modal dual tasks.

Death receptor signaling is critical for cell death, inflammation, and immune homeostasis. Hijacking death receptors and their corresponding adaptors through type III secretion system (T3SS) effectors has been evolved to be a bacterial evasion strategy. NleB from enteropathogenic (EPEC) and SseK1/2/3 from serovar Typhimurium ( Typhimurium) can modify some death domain (DD) proteins through arginine-GlcNAcylation.

One such effector, SseK3, is a Golgi-targeting arginine GlcNAc transferase. Here, we show that SseK3 colocalizes with cis-Golgi via lipid binding.
