The long-term use of antipsychotics (APs) may cause a variety of diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, antipsychotic-induced weight gain (AIWG), and even obesity. This paper reviews the various mechanisms of AIWG and obesity in detail, involving genetics, the central nervous system, the neuroendocrine system, and the gut microbiome. The common drug and non-drug therapies used in clinical practice are also introduced, providing the basis for research on the molecular mechanisms and the future selection of treatments.

Systematic review and Meta-analysis of acupuncture and acupoint catgut embedding for the treatment of abdominal obesity.

Objective: To systematically review and analyze the effect of acupuncture and acupoint catgut embedding in treatment of abdominal obesity to provide a more reasonable clinical treatment regimen.

Methods: Ten databases were searched as of August 2022: the English databases PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Wiley, and Scopus and the Chinese databases China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Wanfang, and SinoMed/Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of acupuncture and acupoint catgut embedding as the main interventions to treat abdominal obesity were extracted.

Systematic Review of Herbal Tea (a Traditional Chinese Treatment Method) in the Therapy of Chronic Simple Pharyngitis and Preliminary Exploration about Its Medication Rules.

Background: Chronic simple pharyngitis (CSP) is a common clinical chronic respiratory inflammation with persistent and intransigent symptoms. We analyzed the clinical data to find the evidence that herbal tea, a traditional Chinese medicine treatment in China, could improve the symptoms of CSP patients in a simple way.

Methods: We systematically reviewed the clinical data of randomized controlled treatments from April 2019 and evaluated the results using the improved Jadad scale and the Cochrane bias risk assessment tool.
