To determine a rapid and accurate method for locating the keypoint and "keyhole" in the suboccipital retrosigmoid keyhole approach. (1) Twelve adult skull specimens were selected to locate the anatomical landmarks on the external surface of the skull. The line between the infraorbital margin and superior margin of the external acoustic meatus was named the baseline.

Article Synopsis
  • The study reviews the surgical management of complex skull base tumors at Zhuhai People's Hospital using advanced image fusion technology from October 2019 to January 2022.
  • Seven cases were analyzed, including various types of tumors, where preoperative multimodal image fusion helped in surgical planning and led to successful gross total resection for all but two cases with minor complications.
  • The findings suggest that using multimodal image fusion and tailored imaging assessment enhances surgical outcomes for complex skull base tumors, emphasizing the importance of personalized treatment strategies.

The emergence and spread of carbapenem-resistant (CRKP) is a serious medical problem worldwide. Acquired OXA-48-like carbapenemases encoded by plasmids are important causes of carbapenem resistance in . To explore the links between plasmids and -like genes in , we systematically analyzed the variants of -like plasmid replicon types, phylogenetic patterns, geographic distribution, conjugative transfer regions, and the genetic environments surrounding -like of 191 -like-harboring plasmids, which were identified from 4451 plasmids of downloaded from GenBank.

New strategies that enhance both the targetability of chemotherapy drugs and the synergistic effects of chemotherapy and immunotherapy are urgently needed for efficacious solid tumor therapy. In this study, a novel biomimetic nanoparticle system possessing the properties of tumor targeting and immune synergy was designed to meet these requirements. Mesoporous silica nanoparticles loaded with the chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) were coated with cell membranes modified by glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored anti-HER2 single chain variable fragment (scFv) and the GPI-anchored co-stimulatory molecule CD80 (to promote solid tumor-targeted chemotherapy and cooperated immunotherapy, respectively).

Objective: We retrospectively assessed the surgical results of PBC with preoperative multimodal image fusion and intraoperative Dyna Computed Tomography (CT) in 24 patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia (PTN) to explore a valuable aid for Percutaneous balloon compression (PBC).

Methods: We studied the data of 24 patients with PTN. All patients underwent PBC and were assessed with preoperative multimodal image fusion [computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)] and intraoperative Dyna CT in the Department of Neurosurgery of Zhuhai People's Hospital between October 2020 and September 2021.

Background: Physical fitness has been recognized not only as an integrated predictor of the body's functional status, but also as an important marker of health outcomes. The aim of this study was to examine the factors associated with physical fitness among 3-6-year-old children within the Tujia-Nationality settlement in the years 2005, 2010, and 2014.

Methods: Demographics questionnaires and fitness assessment were performed to identify the risk factors for poor physical fitness (PPF) among 3- to 6-year-old children in the years 2005, 2010, and 2014 in the area of southwest Hubei of China.

Demographics questionnaires, and fitness tests were utilized to identify the risk factors of hypertension among younger adults in the years 2005, 2010, and 2014 in China's southwest province of Hubei. The results demonstrated that the prevalence of hypertension was higher between 2011 and 2014 among the young people in this area. The main risk factors of developing hypertension were found to be sex (as man), individuals over 40 years old, blue collar employees who worked in rural areas, overweight/obesity, and those with the low CRF.
