Intestinal metaplasia (IM) is a premalignant condition that increases the risk for subsequent gastric cancer (GC). Traditional Chinese medicine generally plays a role in the treatment of IM, and the phytochemical naringenin used in Chinese herbal medicine has shown therapeutic potential for the treatment of gastric diseases. However, naringenin's specific effect on IM is not yet clearly understood.

Background: Nanoparticle polymeric micellar paclitaxel (NPMP) is a novel Cremophor EL (CrEL)-free nanoparticle micellar formulation of paclitaxel. This study evaluated the efficacy and toxicity of NPMP in the treatment of patients with advanced gastric cancer (AGC).
Methods: Patients with histologically confirmed AGC in Jiangsu Cancer Hospital were retrospectively collected and divided into two groups.
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world. The clinical benefit of anti-angiogenic strategy as a single drug is limited. Some studies showed that the combination of anti-angiogenic therapy and chemotherapy exhibited synergistic effect and reduced the side effects of chemotherapy drugs.

Ltd), a vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been proven to be safe and to significantly prolong survival in advanced chemotherapy-refractory gastric cancer. This study aimed to assess and compare the efficacy and safety of apatinib combined with chemotherapy with that of chemotherapy alone as second- or higher-line treatment in patients with advanced and metastatic gastric or those with metastatic gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (mGC).

Previous studies showed that resveratrol could inhibited the growth of human gastric carcinoma cells and apoptosis induction was an important mechanism. However, whether mitochondrial pathway was involved in resveratrol-induced apoptosis in human gastric cancer was not very clear.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as critical regulators of the progression of human cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC). The study of genome-wide lncRNA expression patterns in metastatic CRC could provide novel mechanism underlying CRC carcinogenesis. In here, we determined the lncRNA expression profiles correlating to CRC with or without lymph node metastasis (LNM) based on microarray analysis.

Methods: During January 2009 to March 2013, 108 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma underwent TACE or combined therapies (TACE+RFA or TACE+PEI). The long-term survival rates were evaluated in those patients by various statistical analyses.

Background: In this study, influence caused by expression plasmids of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) short hairpin RNA (shRNA) on mRNA expression of CTGF,TIMP-1,procol-α1 and PCIII in hepatic tissue with hepatic fibrosis, a precancerous condition, in rats is analyzed.
Materials And Methods: To screen and construct shRNA expression plasimid which effectively interferes RNA targets of CTGF and TIMP-1 in rats. 50 cleaning Wistar male rats are allocated randomly at 5 different groups after precancerous fibrosis models and then injection of shRNA expression plasimids.
Background: The effects of home nursing intervention on the quality of life in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) after radiotherapy and chemotherapy are unclear. According to the characteristics of nursing home patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, we should continuously improve the nursing plan and improve the quality of life of patients at home.
Materials And Methods: We selected 180 patients at home with NPC after radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
