Background: Previous studies have shown that both age and hemoglobin are closely associated with the prognosis of septic shock. A recent study found that hemoglobin may change with age. Hemoglobin-to-Age Ratio (HAR) takes both age and hemoglobin into consideration as essential factors.

Predictors and clinical outcomes of permanent pacemaker implantation after transcatheter aortic valve implantation.

Objective: This study aimed to identify the incidence, risk factors, and outcomes of permanent pacemaker (PPM) implantation after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 70 patients who underwent TAVI at the Department of Cardiology, Fujian Provincial Hospital, from January 2018 to March 2022. Based on whether a new PPM was implanted after TAVI, all patients were divided into two groups: NEW PPM and NO PPM.

Especially, terahertz Kerr effect, featuring fascinating prospects in future high-rate computing, artificial intelligence, and cloud-based technologies, encounters a great challenge due to the rather low power density and feeble Kerr response. Here, we demonstrate a giant terahertz frequency Kerr nonlinearity mediated by stimulated phonon polaritons.
