Monocrotaline (MCT), a major pyrrolizidine alkaloid, is well-known for its high liver toxicity. Dysregulation of autophagy induced apoptosis can lead to various liver diseases, including those induced by chemical compounds. Therefore, we aim to explore whether autophagy might serve as a potential strategy for addressing liver apoptosis caused by MCT.

To evaluate the quantitative impacts of land cover change on vegetation greenness in the significantly human-impacted subtropical region, the characteristics of land cover change were explored by land use dynamic degree, transition matrix and normalized entropy. Various methods including Standardized coefficient, LMG (Lindeman-Merenda-Gold), GEN (Genizi measure) and CAR (Correlation-Adjusted Marginal Correlation) were employed to estimate the contributions of land cover changes on vegetation greenness using MODIS data during 2001-2022 in Guangdong. The conclusions revealed that land cover changes exhibited obvious temporal characteristics in Guangdong with a significantly increasing trend of normalized entropy indicating a more balanced distribution of land cover types under human intervention.

The emulsions formed by conventional surfactants have poor stability in high temperature and high salinity reservoirs, which limits the fluidity control ability of emulsion flooding systems. Hydroxyl sulfobetaine surfactants have excellent emulsifying properties and can maintain good activity under high temperature and high salinity conditions. In this study, an emulsion synergistic-stabilized by hydroxyl sulfobetaine surfactant LHSB and SiO nanoparticles was reported for the first time, and the feasibility of its enhanced oil recovery was investigated.

Newcastle disease virus (NDV) threatens global poultry production, with genotype VII the most prevalent strain in China. However, little information is available regarding viral multiplication and pathogenicity based inoculation route. The objectives of this study were to sequence NDV VII isolates and to analyze their biological characteristics in detail.

The COVID-19 outbreak brought online learning to the forefront of education. Scholars have conducted many studies on online learning during the pandemic, but only a few have performed quantitative comparative analyses of students' online learning behavior before and after the outbreak. We collected review data from China's massive open online course platform called icourse.

As a worldwide epidemic in the digital age, cyberbullying is a pertinent but understudied concern-especially from the perspective of language. Elucidating the linguistic features of cyberbullying is critical both to preventing it and to cultivating ethical and responsible digital citizens. In this study, a mixed-method approach integrating lexical feature analysis, sentiment polarity analysis, and semantic network analysis was adopted to develop a deeper understanding of cyberbullying language.

Melanoma Differentiation-Associated protein 5 (MDA5) is a cytoplasmic sensor for viral invasion and plays an important role in regulation of the immune response against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) in chickens. MDA5 was used as an adjuvant to enhance the humoral immune response against influenza virus. In the current study, truncated chicken MDA5 [1-483 aa, chMDA5(483aa)] expressed by recombinant adenovirus was administered to specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chickens to improve the immune response induced by inactivated NDV vaccine.
