Objectives: To investigate the prognostic value of visible hematuria in T1a renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

Materials And Methods: In the RCC database of the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital Department of Urology, we assembled the records of patients with unilateral RCC over 18 years of age diagnosed between 2008 and 2019. The clinical stage was cT1, and the tumors ranged in size from 0 to 7 cm.

Metabolic reprogramming precedes most alterations during pathological cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure (HF). Recent studies have revealed that Phosphofructokinase, platelet (PFKP) has a wealth of metabolic and non-metabolic functions. In this study, we explored the role of PFKP in cardiac hypertrophic growth and HF.

As ecological globalization intensifies, rural waste recycling and management has become a global concern. China's proactive efforts are significant for revitalizing domestic rural ecosystems, offering valuable insights into global environmental governance. The rampant dumping and informal processing of hazardous waste in rural China pose severe threats to local ecological balance and public safety.

Background: To establish a nomogram predicting postoperative recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with nonmetastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) of pathological T3a (pT3a) stage undergoing nephrectomy.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective review included 668 patients with pT3a RCC between 2008 and 2019, randomly divided into training and validation groups (7:3 ratio). Cox regression analysis established the RFS-predicting nomogram in the training group.

The Forel Ule water color index (FUI) based on satellite inversion can characterize the comprehensive characteristics of water quality on a large spatiotemporal scale. The high-frequency observations and rich historical data of the MODIS surface reflectance product (MODIS-500 m) provide important data support for monitoring the FUI of inland lakes. However, MODIS-500 m has only three bands in the visible light range, resulting in significant uncertainty in FUI inversion.

Objectives: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has been linked to an increased risk of kidney stones in prior observational studies, However, the results are inconsistent, and the causality remains to be established. We aimed to investigate the potential causal relationship between NAFLD and kidney stones using two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR).

Methods: Genetic instruments were used as proxies for NAFLD.

Article Synopsis
  • Aldosterone-producing adenomas (APA) are a major cause of primary aldosteronism, leading to hypertension and serious cardiovascular issues if not treated.
  • Researchers merged two datasets and identified 190 differential genes, filtering them down to five key genes related to aldosterone adenoma using various machine learning methods.
  • An artificial neural network (ANN) was created based on these genes, showing promising diagnostic results, while also identifying potential therapeutic drugs for treating APA.

Purpose: Inflammation plays a critical role in the development of cardiac conduction block (CCB), which is associated with an increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) acts as a novel inflammatory marker; however, its association with CCB has not yet been studied. This study aimed to investigate the association between MLR and CCB risk.

As the intensive development of aquaculture persists, the demand for fishmeal continues to grow; however, since fishery resources are limited, the price of fishmeal remains high. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new sources of protein. They are rich in proteins, fatty acids, amino acids, chitin, vitamins, minerals, and antibacterial substances.
