Article Synopsis
  • The study delves into the complex classification and relationships within the Phaseoleae tribe, focusing on the Glycininae subtribe and its key species, Benth.
  • Through genomic sequencing, the research identified a plastome of 148,650 bp with 128 genes, highlighting significant genomic variability across seven Glycininae species.
  • Phylogenetic analysis reveals that Benth. is closely related to other Phaseoleae species, challenging the existing taxonomic groupings, especially within the Erythrininae subtribe, and suggesting a need for reevaluation of their classifications.

Steroidal agent is a standard clinical treatment of atopic dermatitis; however, have serious side effects. Artesunate is reported to exhibit anti-inflammatory properties although its effect on atopic eczema remains unknown. We investigated the therapeutic effects and possible mechanism of systemic artesunate on DNCB-induced atopic dermatitis in a BALB/c mouse model.

Objectives: To investigate the antitumour property of tetrandrine by inducing autophagy and apoptosis in human gastric cancer cells, and to explore the potential molecular mechanisms.

Methods: The antitumour activity of tetrandrine was assessed through MTT assay. Apoptosis was measured by flow cytometry and microscopic examination of cellular morphology.

Two new glycosides suspensaside C (1) and 2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-jacaranone-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), together with four known compounds suspensaside A (3), rengynic acid-1'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), forsythoside A (5), and rengynic acid (6), were isolated from the fruits of Forsythia suspense (Thunb.) Vahl. The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectral analysis, including 1D, 2D NMR analyses and HR-ESI-MS.
