Purpose: To evaluate the preclinical teaching effects of digital virtual simulation system applied in window-type veneer tooth preparation of undergraduate dental students.
Methods: In the early clinical exposure of five-year undergraduate students from School of Stomatology, Fudan University, Simodont virtual simulation system and conventional phantom-simulator system were alternatively used in the preclinical teaching of veneer tooth preparation. First, after theoretical training and tests of veneer tooth preparation, twenty-three students were randomly divided into two groups.
Pleuronota rufosquamosa (Fairmaire, 1893) is a little-known flower beetle from southern China and northern Vietnam, and due to taxonomic changes, the genus Pleuronota Kraatz, 1892 and the species became new records of China. Morphological characteristics of adults are redescribed. Descriptions of the 3rd instar larvae and pupae are also provided, and the morphological differences of the larvae are compared with four genera of the subtribe Taenioderina.

Methods: Totally 81 patients were enrolled in this case control study. Eyes were categorized into 7 groups, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV), idiopathic choroidal neovascularization (CNV), proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), diabetic macular edema (DME), macular edema secondary to branch (BVOME) and central (CVOME) retinal vein occlusion.
High harmonic generation (HHG) have received significant attention for the exploration of material properties and ultrafast dynamics. However, the lack of consideration for couplings between HHG and other quasiparticles, such as phonons, has been impeding the understanding of many-body interactions in HHG. Here, we reveal the many-body electron-phonon mechanism in the quasiparticle-coupled strong-field dynamics by investigating the nonadiabatic (NA) coherent-phonon-coupled HHG.

Triazoles, due to their high bactericidal performance, have been widely used in the agricultural, clinical, and chemical industry. However, triazoles have been proven to cause endocrine-toxic and organ impairment in humans as a potentially toxic substance. Besides, because of the improper use and difficulty of degradation, triazoles pesticide residues left in the environment could pose a threat to the environment.

Aim: To explored the expression level of myocardial enzymes in patients with schizophrenia and its predictive value in the occurrence of violence.
Objective: To explore the mechanism of acupuncture to relieve diabetic proteinuria in Diabetic Kidney Disease (DKD).
Methods: A total of 10 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly selected as the negative control group (NC), and a further 30 rats were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) and intraperitoneal streptozotocin (STZ). The DKD model rats in the model group (DKD) and the acupuncture group (DKD + Acu) were randomly assigned.
Long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) play a substantial role in the process of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI). The present work aimed to determine the probable mechanism by which LncRNA TUG1 exacerbates CIRI via the miR-340-5p/phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) pathway. After developing a middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R) model, pcDNA-TUG1 together with miR-340-5p agomir were administrated in vivo.

Due to limited research on diverse types of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and construction efficiency, our goal was to optimize OSCC organoid models from various sites and assess drug responsiveness.
Methods: We screened and optimized culture media, employing three-dimensional techniques to construct human-derived oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) organoid models in vitro.
Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) can induce massive death of ischemic penumbra neurons via oxygen burst, exacerbating brain damage. Parthanatos is a form of caspase-independent cell death involving excessive activation of PARP-1, closely associated with intense oxidative stress following CIRI. 4'-O-methylbavachalcone (MeBavaC), an isoprenylated chalcone component in Fructus Psoraleae, has potential neuroprotective effects.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the associations between hemoglobin (HGB) levels and bone mineral density (BMD) and fracture risk in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) population of different ages.
Method: This cross-sectional study included 641 patients with T2DM (57.9% males).
Chronic Cerebral Hypoperfusion (CCH) is associated with cognitive dysfunction, the underlying mechanisms of which remain elusive, hindering the development of effective therapeutic approaches. In this study, we employed an established CCH animal model to delve into neuropathological alterations like oxidative stress, inflammation, neurotransmitter synthesis deficits, and other morphological alterations. Our findings revealed that while the number of neurons remained unchanged, there was a significant reduction in neuronal fibers post-CCH, as evidenced by microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2) staining.

In terms of valley-spin locked band structures and electron-hole configurations, these exciton species demonstrate flexible control of emission light with degrees of freedom (DOFs) such as intensity, polarization, frequency, and dynamics. However, it remains elusive to fully manipulate different exciton species on demand for practical photonic applications.

They are used in personal care products such as cosmetics, household coatings, cleaners, skin care products, and others. Resultantly, large number of VMSs are discharged into air where they can be subjected to atmospheric migrations over long distances causing toxic and estrogenic effects, persistence, and bioaccumulations.

Oestrogen has been proven to protect the cardiovascular system. However, whether the oestrogen or its metabolites play the main role in attenuating dysfunction of left ventricular contractility is unknown.

However, we have found that patients under the same TNM staging may exhibit tremendous differences in survival rates. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the prognosis of postoperative OSCC patients, establish a nomogram survival prediction model, and verify its effectiveness.

However, when it comes to safe, discreet pharmaceutical practice, widely recognized preparational and analytical method(s) for PPIs with sensitivity, selectivity, speed and high accuracy still remains underdeveloped. For this reason, this paper sets out to make a comprehensive review of the preparation and determination methods for PPIs based on multiple matrices since 2010.

However, it is still challenging to synthesize size-tunable CsPbBr QDs with purple emission. Herein, CsPbBr nanospheres (NS) with purple emission (432 nm) and wavelength-tunable photoluminescence were synthesized using a two-step recrystallization method for the first time.

Background: Previous studies have shown that transcatheter aortic valve implantation is the best alternative therapy to surgical aortic valve replacement in high-risk surgical patients with aortic stenosis. However, it is not clear whether transcatheter aortic valve implantation can be utilized in low-risk surgical patients with aortic stenosis. This studyaimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve implantation in low-risk patients.

There is currently limited evidence to inform the selection of a representative image sample size to yield a reliable IC density estimate, and arbitrary numbers of images are often used. The primary aim of this study was to determine the number of randomly selected, unique IVCM images required to achieve an acceptable level of accuracy when quantifying epithelial IC density, in both the central and peripheral cornea.
