Objectives: Build the theoretical and evidence-base for a digital platform (map-OR) which delivers intraoperative language tests during awake craniotomy and facilitates collaborative sharing of brain mapping data.

Design: Mixed methodology study including two scoping reviews, international survey, synthesis of development guiding principles and a risk assessment using failure modes and effects analysis.

Setting: The two scoping reviews examined the literature published in the English language.

This study concerns an attempt to establish a new method for predicting antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) which are important to the immune system. Recently, researchers are interested in designing alternative drugs based on AMPs because they have found that a large number of bacterial strains have become resistant to available antibiotics. However, researchers have encountered obstacles in the AMPs designing process as experiments to extract AMPs from protein sequences are costly and require a long set-up time.

Controlling a presacral hemorrhage by using a saline bag: report of a case.

The incidence of presacral bleeding during rectal mobilization is low, but the bleeding may be massive and even fatal, therefore, effective hemostasis is critical. We report our successful use of a saline bag tamponade in a patient with a life-threatening presacral hemorrhage after an abdominoperineal resection of an anal carcinoma.
