This paper explores how personality factors affect substance use disorders (SUDs) using explanatory item response modeling (EIRM). A total of 606 Chinese illicit drug users participated in our study. After removing the cases with missing values on the covariate measures, a final sample of 573 participants was used for data analysis.

A Comparison of Differential Item Functioning Detection Methods in Cognitive Diagnostic Models.

As a class of discrete latent variable models, cognitive diagnostic models have been widely researched in education, psychology, and many other disciplines. Detecting and eliminating differential item functioning (DIF) items from cognitive diagnostic tests is of great importance for test fairness and validity. A Monte Carlo study with varying manipulated factors was carried out to investigate the performance of the Mantel-Haenszel (MH), logistic regression (LR), and Wald tests based on item-wise information, cross-product information, observed information, and sandwich-type covariance matrices (denoted by , , , and , respectively) for DIF detection.

Discovery and Structure-Resistance Relationship Study of New Thieno[2,3-] Pyridine HCV NS4B Inhibitors.

The non-structural protein 4B (NS4B) of hepatitis C virus (HCV) has emerged as a promising target for chronic hepatitis C treatment. The thieno[2,3-]pyridine HCV inhibitor has demonstrated properties as a NS4B inhibitor. Subsequent hybridization of with our recently published imidazo[2,1-]thiazole NS4B inhibitor resulted in the discovery of several more potent compounds with sub-micromolar EC against HCV genotype 1b replicon.

China National Assessment of Education Quality - Physical Education & Health (CNAEQ-PEH) 2015: An Introduction.

Purpose: To summarize the framework and development procedure of the China National Assessment of Education Quality - Physical Education & Health in 2015 (CNAEQ-PEH 2015), an authoritative and evidence-based national surveillance protocol developed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China for Grade 4 and Grade 8 students.

Methods: The framework of CNAEQ-PEH 2015 included a test battery of physical fitness and health outcomes and self-reported questionnaires regarding facilitators and barriers to physical fitness and health in school settings and family status, completed by students, teachers, and principals. A qualified, standardized, and responsible work procedure was generated to provide insights into the quality of data collection and supervision of large-scale school-based physical fitness testing implementation.

Efficacy of Crizotinib for Advanced ALK-Rearranged Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer Patients with Brain Metastasis: A Multicenter, Retrospective Study in China.

Background: The efficacy of crizotinib for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-rearranged non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastasis is controversial. Real-world research data are needed as further evidence.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relations of hormonal contraceptives and infertility drugs with the risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), ischemic stroke, and cardiovascular disease. The Taiwan National Health Institute Research Database was searched for women who had taken hormonal contraceptives or infertility medications from 2000 to 2010. The two groups were age and index date matched with controls (1:4 ratios).

Establishment of a prospective multicenter cohort for advanced non-small cell lung cancer in China (CAPTRA-Lung study).

The CAPTRA-Lung study (NCT03334864) is a prospective observational study that will capture real-world data of patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) across China. The study aims to complement the results from current therapeutic regimens to improve the standard of diagnosis and treatment, evaluate the effectiveness and safety of systemic therapy, and determine the factors influencing the outcomes and responses to treatment. From January 2018 to December 2023, eligible patients with advanced or metastatic NSCLC who are receiving treatment and participating in follow-up at 16 institutions in China, will be enrolled.
