This paper explores how personality factors affect substance use disorders (SUDs) using explanatory item response modeling (EIRM). A total of 606 Chinese illicit drug users participated in our study. After removing the cases with missing values on the covariate measures, a final sample of 573 participants was used for data analysis.

Detecting and eliminating differential item functioning (DIF) items from cognitive diagnostic tests is of great importance for test fairness and validity. A Monte Carlo study with varying manipulated factors was carried out to investigate the performance of the Mantel-Haenszel (MH), logistic regression (LR), and Wald tests based on item-wise information, cross-product information, observed information, and sandwich-type covariance matrices (denoted by , , , and , respectively) for DIF detection.

The thieno[2,3-]pyridine HCV inhibitor has demonstrated properties as a NS4B inhibitor. Subsequent hybridization of with our recently published imidazo[2,1-]thiazole NS4B inhibitor resulted in the discovery of several more potent compounds with sub-micromolar EC against HCV genotype 1b replicon.

Methods: The framework of CNAEQ-PEH 2015 included a test battery of physical fitness and health outcomes and self-reported questionnaires regarding facilitators and barriers to physical fitness and health in school settings and family status, completed by students, teachers, and principals. A qualified, standardized, and responsible work procedure was generated to provide insights into the quality of data collection and supervision of large-scale school-based physical fitness testing implementation.
Background: The efficacy of crizotinib for anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-rearranged non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastasis is controversial. Real-world research data are needed as further evidence.
Objective: We conducted a multicenter, retrospective study to explore how crizotinib affects the control of brain metastasis and the survival outcomes among Chinese patients.
Background: Crizotinib is associated with a favorable survival benefit in patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); however, a subset of patients harboring ALK rearrangement shows a poor response.
Methods: We collected the clinical features and survival outcomes of 28 primary-resistant responders (PRR) with progression-free survival (PFS) of < 3 months on crizotinib and compared these with 78 long-term responders (LTR) that achieved > 24 months PFS (control).
Results: Primary resistance was observed in 6.
Several studies have revealed the neurotoxicity of 1-trichloromethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-beta-carboline (TaClo). However, the underlying mechanism has not been completely elucidated, particularly . This study was designed to study the neurotoxicity of TaClo by stereotactically injecting TaClo into the striatum of Wistar rats.

Nonetheless, its potential effect and mechanism of action on tumor growth and metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have rarely been analyzed. In this study, we found that miR-629-5p was upregulated in HCC tissue samples as compared to matched adjacent-tissue samples.

The isolated yields of the chromium complexes were found to increase with the increase in the amount of H2O introduced and reach the highest values (66-76%) when 1/2 eq.

Hyperglycemia was proved to cause neuron death in both animal experiments and poor outcome of hemorrhage patients, but the predictive ability of admission blood glucose level for early hematoma growth in patients with intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is still controversial. Spot sign is a well-established imaging predictor for early hematoma growth, implying active microvascular bleeding. Here, we aim to assess associations between admission serum glucose and early hematoma expansion in ICH patients, as well as spot sign.

Recently the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) was identified as a predictor for the short-term outcome in ICH patients. However, the association of NLR with the long-term outcome in patients with ICH remains unknown.

As the most critical part, the fatigue behavior of the CFRP-to-steel bonded interface directly determines the strengthening effect of steel structures reinforced by CFRP. In this paper, a series of CFRP-to-steel double-shear specimens are performed in order to study the interfacial bond behavior between CFRP and steel under fatigue loading.

We have recently shown that activated non-canonical NF-κB signaling (RelB/p52) recruits histone acetyltransferase CBP and deacetylase HDAC1 to selectively acetylate H3K9 (H3K9ac) to induce expression of corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) and prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase-2 (PTGS2) in the human placenta. Both of these genes play a role in initiating parturition in human pregnancy.

In this study, a series of benzomorpholine derivatives were synthesized and biologically evaluated as EZH2 inhibitors. The target compounds were obtained in good yields from 3-amino-5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzoic acid via cyclization, Suzuki coupling and amidation as the key steps.

Interestingly, when there is discrepancy between the predicted age and chronologic age (age acceleration or "AgeAccel"), patients are at risk for morbidity and mortality. Identification of infertile patients at risk for accelerated reproductive senescence may permit preventative action.
