Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive, and devastating lung disorder. In response to transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), normal lung cells proliferate and differentiate into myofibroblasts, which are instrumental in promoting disease progression. Small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting heat shock protein 47 (HSP47) has been demonstrated to alleviate IPF by blocking collagen synthesis and secretion.

Although antibody-mediated autoimmune reactions are widely recognized as primary factors, the precise etiological agents that trigger ITP remain unidentified. The pathogenesis of ITP remains unclear owing to the absence of comprehensive high-throughput data, except for the belated emergence of autoreactive antibodies.

By overcoming the complexity of the tumor microenvironment (TME) and bypassing drug resistance mechanisms, nanotechnology has shown great potential to improve drug efficacy and reduce toxic side effects. This review examines the impact of the TME on drug resistance and recent advances in nanomedicine delivery systems to overcome this challenge.

Based on the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers developed by whole genome resequencing (WGRS), the relationship and population genetic structure of 53 common apricot () varieties were analyzed to provide a theoretical basis for revealing the phylogenetic relationship and classification of the common apricot. WGRS was performed on 53 common apricot varieties, and high-quality SNP sites were obtained after alignment with the "" apricot genome as a reference. Phylogenetic analysis, G matrix analysis, principal component analysis, and population structure analysis were performed using Genome-wide Complex Trait Analysis (GCTA), FastTree, Admixture, and other software.

However, there is relatively little research on the physiological characteristics of drilling workers during mind wandering. The aim of this investigation was to tackle the constraints of previous studies and to establish a more comprehensive theoretical framework and practical guidance for safety management.

The chronic progression of AS, spanning from initial plaque formation to the occurrence of acute cardiovascular events, underscores the complexity of AS and the challenges it presents in terms of treatment. Currently, the clinical management of AS relies predominantly on statins and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitors, which primarily aim to reduce low-density lipoprotein levels and have demonstrated some therapeutic efficacy.

This study aims to elucidate the role and mechanism of serpin family B member 1 (SerpinB1) in pro-inflammatory cardiomyocyte pyroptosis, heart inflammation, and cardiac remodelling.
Methods And Results: C57BL/6J wild-type, inducible cardiac-specific SerpinB1 overexpression or knockout mice underwent transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgery.
Social competition determines hierarchical social status, which profoundly influences animals' behavior and health. The dorsomedial prefrontal cortex (dmPFC) plays a fundamental role in regulating social competitions, but it was unclear how the dmPFC orchestrates win- and lose-related behaviors through its downstream neural circuits. Here, through whole-brain c-Fos mapping, fiber photometry, and optogenetics- or chemogenetics-based manipulations, we identified anatomically segregated win- and lose-related neural pathways downstream of the dmPFC in mice.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of miR-317 overexpression or silencing on VIPR1 gene and protein expression in duck follicle granulosa cells. The ovaries of Muscovy ducks were collected during the nesting and laying periods, and histological differences were analyzed via HE staining.

Background: Regorafenib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), is used in the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the occurrence of acquired resistance limits its antitumor efficacy. While multiple studies have highlighted the crucial role of bypass activation in acquired TKI resistance, few have focused on bypass activation in regorafenib resistance in HCC.

The integration of environmental risk assessment and oil spill modeling can help to understand and quantitatively characterize the potential risks from subsea blowouts in specific regions. This study integrates a novel deepwater oil spill model (DWOSM) and an extended stochastic modeling methodology to assess the environmental risk of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) during a simulated offshore subsurface blowout off the east coast of Newfoundland, Canada.

Over recent decades, marine transportation has increased across the Arctic and, as a result, so has the likelihood of an oil spill. The study of oil spills in the Arctic presents unique challenges compared to temperate marine environments, due to remoteness, cold temperatures and the presence of snow and ice throughout much of the year.

Ion transport is a critical factor influencing the performance of electrochromic devices (ECDs). In this work, the effects of the valence state and ionic radius of six cations, Li, Na, K, Mg, Zn, and Al, on the performance of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-polystyrene sulfonic acid (PEDOT:PSS)-based ECDs are investigated. Both ion migration and diffusion are discussed as processes that were analyzed, with results indicating that the primary contributor to the response of ECDs is ion migration.

β-GaO, as an ultrawide band gap semiconductor, has emerged as the most promising candidate in solar-blind photodetectors. The practical application of β-GaO, however, suffers from intrinsic defects and suboptimal crystal quality within the devices. In this work, high-quality β-GaO was successfully synthesized by employing the Zr-doping strategy, which has facilitated the development of ultrahigh-performance solar-blind photodetectors based on CuO/β-GaO heterostructures.

Aim: This study aimed to develop a tailored EPA framework for novice nurses to support their integration and performance in hospital settings.
Background: Novice nurses often struggle with the transition from education to practice due to the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills. EPAs help bridge this gap by defining and assessing key competencies, but a framework specific to novice nurses is needed to address their unique challenges.

Immune cell therapy based on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) technology platform has been greatly developed. The types of CAR immune cell therapy have expanded from T cells to innate immune cells such as NK cells and macrophages, and the diseases treated have expanded from hematological malignancies to non-tumor fields such as infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases. Among them, CAR-T and CAR-NK therapy have observed examples of rapid remission in approved clinical trials, but the efficacy is unstable and plagued by tumor resistance.
