Introduction: This report details a case of Type I oblique vaginal septum syndrome (OVSS), highlighting its complexity as a congenital uterine malformation.

Case Presentation: A 12-year-old girl presented with severe lower abdominal pain coinciding with her first menstrual period. Ultrasound revealed a septate uterus and an oblique vaginal septum, prompting an emergency hysteroscopic procedure that confirmed the diagnosis of Type I OVSS.

Background: Previously identified phenotypes of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) could not reveal the dynamic change of phenotypes over time. It is known that complex growth environments often induce inhomogeneity in two-dimensional (2D) materials and significantly restrict their applications. In this paper, we proposed an efficient method to analyze the inhomogeneity of 2D materials by combination of Raman spectroscopy and unsupervised k-means clustering analysis. Taking advantage of k-means analysis, it can provide not only the characteristic Raman spectrum for each cluster but also the cluster spatial maps.

Primordial germ cells (PGCs) derived from human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) represent as a desirable experimental model as well as a potential strategy for treating male infertility. Here, we developed a simple and feasible method for differentiation of PGCs from hESCs by using CHIR99021 (an inhibitor of glycogen synthase kinase 3) and retinoic acid (RA). We firstly found that the deleted in azoospermia-like (DAZL) protein can be detected in 3 d CHIR99021 plus 9 d retinoic acid treated cultures and 12 d CHIR99021 plus retinoic acid co-treated cultures, but not expressed in single CHIR99021 treated cultures, single retinoic acid treated cultures, as well as 3 d retinoic acid plus 9 d CHIR99021 treated cultures.

The ends of eukaryotic chromosomes contain specialized chromatin structures called telomeres, the length of which plays a key role in early human embryonic development. Although the effect of sperm preparation techniques on major sperm characteristics, such as concentration, motility and morphology have been previously documented, the possible status of telomere length and its relation with sperm preparation techniques is not well-known for humans. Objective: To analyze the chemical components of the essential oil extracted from the seeds of Myristica fragrans (nutmeg) processed by different methods (steamed with water steam, roasted with flour, sauted with flour, roasted with talcum powder, roasted with loess, and roasted with bran) and to provide quality control foundations in the sciences.

Method: The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation and separated with GC capillary column. The relative content of every compound was determined with area normalization method and the structures were elucidated by GC-MS technique.

Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) DNA polymerase was purified from virus-infected cells using conventional chromatographic methods. The enzymatic activity of fractions eluting from single-stranded agarose gels was found to exactly coincide with a single polypeptide with an apparent molecular mass of approximately 110,000 Da on denaturing polyacrylamide gels stained with Coomassie blue.
