The RON receptor tyrosine kinase is critical in the pathogenesis of various cancer types, however, its role in bladder cancer invasive growth is still largely unknown. Here, we found that over 90% of bladder cancer samples exhibit elevated levels of RON expression, with significantly higher expression levels observed in invasive bladder cancer compared to non-invasive bladder cancer. In vitro, RON activation resulted in increased bladder cancer cell migration and invasiveness.

Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a highly aggressive variant of castration-resistant prostate cancer. It is characterized by low or no expression of the androgen receptor (AR), activation of AR-independent signaling, and increased neuroendocrine phenotype. Most of NEPC is induced by treatment of androgen deprivation therapy and androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPIs).

Background And Purpose: The associations of fundamental motor skills (FMS), health-related physical fitness (., cardiorespiratory fitness, CRF), and moderate-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) have been demonstrated in Western children, but these associations have not yet been validated in a sample of Chinese children. The aims of this study, therefore, were to examine the association between FMS subdomains and MVPA in a sample of Chinese children and to evaluate whether this association is mediated by CRF.

For metastatic prostate cancer, androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is the key strategy to control the disease. However, after 18-24 months of treatment, most patients will progress from metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) to metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) even with ADT. Once patients enter into mCRPC, they face with significant declines in quality of life and a dramatically reduced survival period.

Plastic packaging has shown its advantages over ceramic packaging and metal packaging in lightweight, thin, and high-density electronic devices. In this paper, the reliability and moisture diffusion of Sop-8 (Small Out-Line Package-8) plastic packaging devices are studied, and we put forward a set of complete optimization methods. Firstly, we propose to improve the reliability of plastic packaging devices by reducing the amount of cavitation and warpage deformation.

Accurate segmentation of medical images is an important step during radiotherapy planning and clinical diagnosis. However, manually marking organ or lesion boundaries is tedious, time-consuming, and prone to error due to subjective variability of radiologist. Automatic segmentation remains a challenging task owing to the variation (in shape and size) across subjects.

Hydrogels, as a series of three-dimensional, crosslinked, hydrophilic network polymers, exhibit extraordinary properties in softness, mechanical robustness and biocompatibility, which have been extensively utilized in various fields, especially for electronic devices. However, since hydrogels contain plenty of water, the mechanical and electrochemical properties are susceptible to temperature. The thermal characteristics of hydrogels can significantly affect the performance of flexible electronic devices.

Age-associated changes in brain function play an important role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases. Although previous work has examined age-related changes in static functional connectivity, accumulating evidence suggests that advancing age is especially associated with alterations in the dynamic interactions and transitions between different brain states, which hitherto have received less attention. Conclusions of previous studies in this domain are moreover limited by suboptimal replicability of resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and culturally homogenous cohorts.

Major depression (MDD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) have become one of the leading global causes of disability and both are characterized by marked interpersonal and social impairments. However, despite high comorbidity and overlapping social-emotional deficits, it remains unclear whether MDD and GAD share a common neural basis during interpersonal processing. In the present study, we combined an emotional face processing paradigm with fMRI and dimensional and categorical analyses in a sample of unmedicated MDD and GAD patients (N = 72) as well as healthy controls (N = 35).

High-performance size-exclusion chromatography (HPSEC) has been developed for the rapid and quantitative analysis of inactivated foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV) and adopted by regulatory agencies and vaccine manufacturers. However, strong non-specific adsorption of type A/AKT III FMDV was found on some batches of TSK G4000 SW column, which significantly affected the analysis accuracy. The adsorption mechanism was studied by investigating the charge and hydrophobicity of A/AKT III FMDV and another serotype O/Mya 98, as well as several model proteins, by zeta potential and hydrophobic interaction chromatography analysis.

Mini-grooved flat heat pipe (MGFHP) possesses the advantages of high compactness, no mechanical component, super thermal conductivity, and excellent temperature uniformity, which can meet the demand for electronic devices efficiently cooling. In this research, visual and heat transfer experiments were performed to investigate the flow and thermal characteristics inside the MGFHP. Fluid flow and distribution are observed to be quite different in the MGFHP containing different working fluids, which is affected by the physical properties of working fluid, the surface state of the grooved wick, and limited working space.

In humans, the neuropeptide oxytocin promotes both attraction toward and bonds with romantic partners, although no studies have investigated whether this extends to the perceived attractiveness of flirtatious language. In a within-subject, randomized double-blind placebo-controlled behavior and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) paradigm (https://clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT03144115), 75 women rated the attractiveness of either a male face alone or paired with a verbal compliment which varied in terms of topic (women or landscapes) and figurativeness (novel or conventional metaphors or literal expressions).

The study of moral judgements often centres on moral dilemmas in which options consistent with deontological perspectives (that is, emphasizing rules, individual rights and duties) are in conflict with options consistent with utilitarian judgements (that is, following the greater good based on consequences). Greene et al. (2009) showed that psychological and situational factors (for example, the intent of the agent or the presence of physical contact between the agent and the victim) can play an important role in moral dilemma judgements (for example, the trolley problem).

Background: Schizophrenia has been primarily conceptualized as a disorder of high-order cognitive functions with deficits in executive brain regions. Yet due to the increasing reports of early sensory processing deficit, recent models focus more on the developmental effects of impaired sensory process on high-order functions. The present study examined whether this pathological interaction relates to an overarching system-level imbalance, specifically a disruption in macroscale hierarchy affecting integration and segregation of unimodal and transmodal networks.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) are highly debilitating and often co-morbid disorders. The disorders exhibit partly overlapping dysregulations on the behavioral and neurofunctional level. The determination of disorder-specific behavioral and neurofunctional dysregulations may therefore promote neuro-mechanistic and diagnostic specificity.
