The Nísia Floresta National Forest, located in Rio Grande do Norte (RN), is an important remnant of the Atlantic Forest biome in Brazil. Bromeliad tanks in this forest offer suitable breeding sites for mosquito species that may act as viral vectors, thus posing an epidemiological concern. However, studies investigating the presence of immature Culicidae in natural breeding sites in RN have thus far been restricted to Caatinga vegetation.

Methods: this is a scoping review based on the question: "What is the evidence regarding the use of abdominal compressions during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in patients with cardiac arrest?". Publications up to August 2022 were collected from eight databases.
Background: Ulceration of the feet in patients with diabetes is a frequent complication that increases morbidity, mortality, hospitalization, treatment costs, and non-traumatic amputations.
Objective: To present a systematic review of the treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus and infected foot ulcers using photodynamic therapy.
Design And Setting: A systematic review was performed in the postgraduate program in nursing at the Universidade da Integração Internacional da Lusofonia Afro-Brasileira, Ceará, Brazil.
Objective: to construct and validate an educational booklet on high dose rate gynecological brachytherapy (HDR) for women with gynecologic cancer.
Methods: a methodological study, with the construction and validity of a booklet based on the Doak, Doak and Root theoretical-methodological framework. Content and appearance validity was guided by the Delphi technique, by 11 judges, selected using Jasper's criteria.
The purpose of this study was to assess differences in mental health symptoms, pandemic-related concerns, and maladaptive coping behaviors among adults in the United States across generations during the initial period of the COVID-19 pandemic. A social media campaign was used to recruit 2696 U.S.

An increase in the incidence of arboviral, microbial and parasitic infections, and to disorders related to oxidative stress has encouraged the development of adjuvant therapies based on natural formulations, such as those involving plant extracts. Thus, to expand the repertoire of the available therapeutic options, this study aimed to describe the versatility of Tephrosia toxicaria (Sw.) (Pers.

CDSUD serves as a response to refractory suffering in palliative situations where the patients' death is expected to occur in the following hours or days. Little is known on the psychological adjustment surrounding a CDSUD procedure for healthcare providers (HCPs) and relatives.

The occurrence of some types of malocclusions can have an impact on oral health-related quality of life in children. Hence, the present study aimed to verify the impact of primary dentition malocclusion on oral health-related quality of life in preschool children.

Method: Randomized, controlled and blinded clinical trial, carried out in a dialysis unit, with a total of 62 patients undergoing hemodialysis - 31 participants in intervention group and 31 in the control group. Intercession prayer was applied three times, in alternate weeks, during hemodialysis sessions.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the Arco de Maguerez in teaching nursing students about the Bladder Catheter.
Method: Quasi-experimental study conducted at a public university in northeastern Brazil, with 29 students, in a single group, in the period of october 2018. Data were collected before and after using the Arco de Maguerez in educational intervention, using validated instruments, referring to knowledge and practice.
Objectives: to create and validate a serial album for Pressure Ulcer prevention in the hospital environment.
Methods: a methodological study with the production of the serial album and validation by 22 judges and 22 patients. The content was based on the integrative review and the reports of the World Health Organization.

Background: Phlebotomines are a group of insects which include vectors of the Leishmania parasites that cause visceral leishmaniasis (VL) and cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), diseases primarily affecting populations of low socioeconomic status. VL in Brazil is caused by Leishmania infantum, with transmission mainly attributed to Lutzomyia longipalpis, a species complex of sand fly, and is concentrated mainly in the northeastern part of the country. CL is distributed worldwide and occurs in five regions of Brazil, at a higher incidence in the north and northeast regions, with etiological agents, vectors, reservoirs and epidemiological patterns that differ from VL.

Methods: The ecological relationships between Haemagogus spegazzinii, the environment, and some of its activities in the semiarid region of Rio Grande do Norte were analyzed by collecting eggs with ovitraps, actively searching in tree holes, capturing adults in Shannon traps, and conducting an investigation for viral infections.
Entomological surveillance is very important for parasite and arbovirus vector control programs. Light traps with incandescent bulbs are used to attract insects and analyze the factors that contribute to the occurrence of species surrounding an environmental protection zone. Phlebotomine and mosquito abundance and their diversity were analyzed.

We are investigating the effects of sildenafil, on post and preganglionic nerve-mediated contractions of the mouse bladder, and neuronal and urothelial ATP release.
Experimental Approach: Bladders were used from young (12 weeks), aged (24 months), and spinal cord transected (SCT), mice, for in vitro contractility experiments.
Aim: This was to investigate the occurrence of malocclusion traits among children who were users of orthodontic or conventional pacifier by means of a systematic review.
Methods: Search for articles involved five electronic databases: Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS), PsycINFO, PubMed (including MedLine), Scopus and Web of Science. Grey literature was partially assessed.

Aims: To determine the efficacy of a single session protocol (SSP) in the reduction of septic content of primary teeth root canals and identify the persistence of bacterial species associated with unsuccessful treatment.
Methods: Primary teeth root canals (16) with pulp necrosis and peri-radicular lesions were treated. Samples were collected at baseline (T1), and after chemo-mechanical preparation, before filling (T2).
Purpose: To characterise in vivo the structure of bacterial communities in decayed and sound primary teeth.
Materials And Methods: Samples of biofilms were collected from three groups of patients with complete and exclusively primary dentition (n = 45): G1: sound teeth (n = 15); G2: enamel lesion (n = 15); G3: dentin lesion (n = 15). DNA was extracted (CTAB 2%) from the biofilm, the partial 16S rRNA gene was amplified with Bacteria Universal Primers (BA338fGC - UN518r) and subjected to DGGE (denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis).
The genomic sequences of 20 Leishmania infantum isolates collected in northeastern Brazil were compared with each other and with the available genomic sequences of 29 L. infantum/donovani isolates from Nepal and Turkey. The Brazilian isolates were obtained in the early 1990s or since 2009 from patients with visceral or non-ulcerating cutaneous leishmaniasis, asymptomatic humans, or dogs with visceral leishmaniasis.
