Background: The management of high-risk acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) remains challenging, highlighting the need for innovative conditioning strategies beyond current regimens.
Methods: In the present single-arm study, a FACT regimen comprised of low-dose total body irradiation (TBI) with fludarabine, cytarabine and cyclophosphamide was employed to treat cytogenetically high-risk AML patients exhibiting pre-transplant active disease. This clinical trial is registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry with the registration number ChiCTR2000035111.
Background: Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare condition that can cause progressive symptoms including dyspnea, cough and respiratory insufficiency. Secondary PAP is generally associated with hematological malignancies including chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of PAP occurring secondary to CMML.

Huanglian Jiedu Decoction is a common conservative treatment for this disease in China. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to explore the efficacy of Huanglian Jiedu Decoction in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

Background: In December 2019, the novel coronavirus pneumonia was detected in Wuhan and named COVID-19. It is an international outbreak of the respiratory illness caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Recent papers pointed out the cytopenia in COVID-19 patients including lymphopenia, neutrophilia, thrombocytopenia and lower level of hemoglobin had prognostic significance.

Patients with hematological malignancies following voriconazole therapy are at high risk from mucormycosis. Here, the present study reports on a 68-year-old man diagnosed with multiple myeloma and secondary myelodysplastic syndrome, who was infected with disseminated mucormycosis with cerebellum involvement confirmed by mycological culture and histopathological examination.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a rare leukemia characterized by the balanced reciprocal translocation between the promyelocytic leukemia gene on chromosome 15 and the retinoic acid receptor α (RARα) gene on chromosome 17, and accounts for 10-15% of newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia each year. The combined use of all-trans retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide (ATO) as primary therapy has markedly improved the survival rate of patients with APL. Mortality in the first 30 days following therapy remains a major contribution to treatment failure.

A bone marrow puncture identified an elevated eosinophil rate of 23% (normal range, <5%), which indicated eosinophilia. However, gene analysis, fluorescent hybridization and other examinations, including bone marrow aspiration, blood routine, auto-antibody tests and parasitic and allergens screening, contradicted a diagnosis of secondary or clonal eosinophilia.

Methods And Results: Based on the Fast Isolation by AFLP of Sequences COntaining repeats (FIASCO) protocol, 15 microsatellite markers were developed for C. fortunei, 13 of which were polymorphic within a sample of 75 individuals representing five natural populations.
This case report describes a 44-year-old female with hepatitis C virus-related thrombocytopenia. The laboratory tests showed a platelet count of 3×10⁹/l, positive HCV serology and high serum concentration of HCV-RNA of 6.74×10⁶ copy/ml.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Dahuang Zhechong pills (DZ) on arterial thrombotic model in vivo.
Methods: Sixty-five rabbits were randomly divided into 7 groups: normal, model (collagen encapsulated thread-drawing),model+aspirin (ASA), model+clopidogrel (CP),model+ASA+CP, model+ low dosage DZ (DZL), and model+high dosage DZ (DZH). All rabbits except the normal group were fed with the drugs repectively for 8 days, and sacrificed at 2 hours after the last feeding, obtained aortae.

This study was aimed to investigate the expression and activity of membrane surface tissue factor (TF) of monocytes and platelets in peripheral blood cells from patients with cerebral infarction and their clinical significance. The TF expressions in monocytes and platelets from 25 patients with cerebral infarction were detected by flow cytometry, the TF activity was detected by chromogenic reaction method, and compared with 24 normal people used as control. The results showed that the TF expressions of monocytes and platelets in peripheral blood cells from patients with cerebral infarction were significantly higher than that in normal controls (p<0.

Objective: To establish and evaluate a rabbit model of arterial thrombosis by modified thread-drawing.
Methods: Fifty-three rabbits were randomly divided into 6 groups: a normal group, a ligating group,a collagen encapsulated thread-drawing group,a aspirin group,a clopidogrel group, and an aspirin clopidogral group. The endovascular pathological changes in the rabbits were observed, and D-fructose-1,6-diphosphate trisodium salt octahydrate (FDP), D-Dimer and tissue factor (TF) were detected with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.

Objective: To explore whether normal platelet contains tissue factor (TF), and the significance of platelet-associated TF (PATF).
Methods: Platelets were isolated by Sepharose 2B gel column. ELISA was used to detect the TF content in the lysates of washed platelets.
Objective: To explore the change in the protein content and procoagulant activity of platelet-associated tissue factor (TF) in thrombotic diseases.
Methods: Platelets were isolated with Sepharose 2B gel column. ELISA was employed to detect the TF protein content in the lysates of washed platelets, procoagulant activity of platelet-associated TF was measured with one stage clotting time assay.

To investigate the effect of GFP fused to C terminal of integrin alpha(IIb) on the biosynthesis and expression of alpha(IIb) beta(3) compound, the alpha(IIb) GFP expression plamid, named palpha(IIb) GFP, the cDNA of alpha(IIb) was constructed from p3.1-2b and fused to pEGFP-N1 in frame. When the sequence of palpha(IIb) GFP was confirmed by sequencing it was transferred to Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells with or without p3.

It has been revealed in recent years that they can induce mature and immature megakaryocytes (MKs) to migrate through bone marrow endothelial cells (BMEC) by increasing the affinity of MKs for BMEC. Thus MKs maturity and eventual release of platelet from MKs ensues.
