A novel method using room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) enhances cloud point extraction for detecting trace amounts of nickel, improving sensitivity by 3.0 times.
The method employs diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) as a chelating agent and Triton X-100 as the extractant, allowing successful separation of nickel when the temperature exceeds Triton X-100's cloud point.
With optimized conditions, the method achieved a high enrichment factor of 72 and a low detection limit of 0.5 ng/mL, demonstrating effective application in certified reference materials.
