Describe our experiences using teleconsultation approach to care for pediatric subspecialty follow-up patients during pandemic period. Synchronous teleconsultation solution was developed and implemented as a multiplatform/multimodality service, capable or running on desktop browsers and smartphones, and capable to handle chat, audio, and video.   • Results indicated that the best correlation for estimating newborn weight was achieved using Snijders and Nicolaides' biometric table combined with Stirnemann's weight formula, while Shepard's formula showed the lowest average relative error when paired with multiple biometric tables.

Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are a group of serine-threonine kinases, including p38(MAPK), ERK 1/2 and JNK p54/p46, activated by phosphorylation in response to extracellular stimuli. Epidemiological studies indicate that high midlife plasma cholesterol levels increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Moreover, middle-aged familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) subjects show a particularly high incidence of mild cognitive impairments (MCI). These evidence points to hypercholesterolemia as one of the modifiable risk factors focused on prevention/treatment of cognitive deterioration.

The cellular prion protein (PrP(C)) is a neuronal-anchored glycoprotein that has been associated with various functions in the CNS such as synaptic plasticity, cognitive processes and neuroprotection. Here we investigated age-related behavioral and neurochemical alterations in wild-type (Prnp(+/+)), PrP(C) knockout (Prnp(0/0)) and the PrP(C) overexpressing Tg-20 mice. Sexual dimorphism during mammalian neural development seems to contribute to differential gender-related incidence in malformations of cortical development in both humans and rodents. The cellular prion protein (PrP(C)) has been implicated with the modulation of neuronal apoptosis, adhesion, neurite outgrowth and maintenance which are processes involved in the neocortical development. Malformations of cortical development (MCD) are frequently associated with neurological conditions including mental retardation, autism, and epilepsy.
