Article Synopsis
  • * The study hypothesized that lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), specifically its subunits LDHA and LDHB, plays a role in the Warburg effect in cells transformed by the carcinogen MNNG.
  • * Results showed that exposure to MNNG increased cell proliferation and lactate production; knocking down LDHA or LDHB reduced these effects, while overexpressing them promoted malignant transformation, enhancing the Warburg effect.
